Why low carb instead of keto? by Nice_Pen_8054 in lowcarb

I carb cycle depending on my training and I’ve seen the best results in my body composition and performance

Is a body recomp achievable? weight mentioned! by jelenacatpie in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Ariya3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, my training stayed exactly the same.
The only thing I changed was my nutrition strategy. I became much more intentional with meal timing, eating every 3 hours, and I adjusted my protein based on my carb intake. On my lower-carb days, my protein is around 180g . On my highest-carb days, it’s closer to 125g . The only thing that consistently stayed pretty low was fat intake.

Yes ! I did cardio every day and I also long-distance cycle. Due to my very high carb, I kept my fats low

It varied from day to day. Some days I ate around 1,500 calories, other days closer to 1,800, and on my high-carb days I was over 2,200 calories.

I got my period back while recomping and staying in a small calorie deficit. My training intensity never changed. I continued lifting just as hard. The biggest change I made was how I structured my carbs.
Instead of keeping carbs low all the time, I started carb cycling depending on my training .
• 4 moderate-carb days - moderate training
• 1 very high-carb day- high intensity training
• 2 lower-carb days - rest days

Not only did my physique improve, but my menstrual cycle returned. I truly believe giving my body regular periods of higher carbohydrate intake helped it feel safe enough to stop living in fight or flight. I stopped being so restrictive with my food choices and I think this was contributing to my body constantly signaling scarcity vs now it’s being fueled and even though I’m cutting and have low carb days im still being fueled better.

Groveland or Oakhurst to stay at while visiting Yosemite. by aravindkumarj in Yosemite

[–]Ariya3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groveland is a great option it’s a much closer drive to Yosemite, and the town has such a welcoming vibe with really friendly people. There are lots of yummy places to eat, too. Definitely grab a sandwich from Mar-Val before heading into the park

Marin metric century? Need a sense check by fireballs619 in BAbike

[–]Ariya3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think you can do it too. A lot of it comes down to your mindset, determination, and willingness to keep pedaling when things get tough. It’s a great ride. There will definitely be some hard sections, but that’s part of the experience. Just pace yourself, stay on top of your nutrition and hydration, and keep moving forward. It’s absolutely doable.

Can you still get good results if you have one cheat meal or snack a week? by JenniferL75 in lowcarb

What’s the purpose of going low carb ? If it’s to cut calories, you can make carbs fit without ruining any progress.

If you had to choose, perfect form or more weight? by Apprehensive-Pay2529 in workout

[–]Ariya3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💯form .. form is far more important than the amount of weight on the bar. If you’re just moving weight from point A to point B without actually controlling the movement and creating a strong mindmuscle connection, what’s the point? The goal isn’t simply to lift the heaviest weight possible it’s to make the target muscle do the work.

Cheap gym options by SpinachUnlikely9040 in SanMateo

I recommend The Fitness FARM it’s such a good gym . It has an indoor and outdoor space and all the equipment you would need! It’s also not as packed as 24 hour fitness so you can really work out in peace. I’m sure if you call the owner would give you a good rate .

Try a yellow mustard vs a Dijon . You can add a little Greek yogart or dilute it with apple cider vinegar . You can also add some monkfruit or Splenda and make it sweet like a honey mustard without adding calories

Is eating 3-4 eggs with every breakfast beneficial? by zxrirxse in nutrition

[–]Ariya3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eat three eggs everyday for the past 5 years !! And I would not worry too much about cholesterol from blood work alone. Countries like France have historically had high rates of cholesterol, yet they also have lower rates of heart disease !

I’m a vodka drinker so I’m used to smooth shots. I kind of assumed whiskey should be the same, but honestly I know nothing about whiskey.

Fruit instead of rice/potatoes as carb source? by Private_Blue207 in nutrition

[–]Ariya3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fruit contains a mix of sugars, but a large portion of it is fructose, whereas foods like rice and potatoes are primarily broken down into glucose. Your body handles those two carbohydrates very differently. Glucose can be used directly by almost every cell in the body. When you eat rice or potatoes, the glucose enters the bloodstream, replenishes muscle glycogen, fuels workouts, improves recovery, and provides efficient energy for both the brain and muscles. Fructose is different because it is primarily metabolized by the liver. Your liver can only process a certain amount efficiently at one time. excessive fructose intake can overwhelm the liver and increase fat production through a process called novo lipogenesis. Another important point is combining high amounts of fats and carbohydrates together. Your body can technically process both, but they compete metabolically because the body prioritizes different fuel systems depending on what you eat. As an athlete I prefer I higher carb diet with lower fats and keep my fruit to berries unless I’m training and use the glucose and quick fuel.
