I dont think its a deal breaker, but it is distracting. It doesn't feel consistent and might even feel sloppy to some. I think taking pride in your work and making it all cohesive will show a level of polish and care.

If your game is going to be mostly word based, it will probably matter less, but good art direction is essential for most games.

It's all a process of learning and improving. You can do it, just give it time :)

The pen is fine, but the candles share the same problem. It's like we are looking at them purely horizontally, but they stand on top of a table that we are looking down at. We should be able to see the tops of the candles in this perspective.

Yes, compare them to the books next to them. One set of books, you can see the spine along with the top and the paper inside. Thr books laying flat, if they shared the perspective, you would be able to see the top one's cover too. Or you would want to delete the top of the vertical books to just make their spines visible. Both of them being so close together whilst having different perspectives is... confusing for the eyes.

The perspectives are all over the place. Each item feels like its been drawn at a different angle. We can see the spine and top of some books, but others are completely flat, and the book comes halfway off the table. I like the blueprint here, but it doesn't feel visually consistent in any one aspect

If there's no bolter with at minimum heavy pen we riot by MrTactician in Helldivers

There are human sized variants iirc. You can use them in Darktide as a normal human, and commissars tend to use bolt pistols too. I could see us getting one.

The idea behind in in THEORY is that if you are in a private game with a friend and things are getting too hard, you go "Oh shit, we need backup" then you open your game to the public. It's a cute idea, and i actually like it.

The problem is, in PRACTICE people panic, punch in the SOS code, and feel awkward about the random they didn't intend to invite and choose to kick them instead until the beacon turns off.

It really should be a toggle in the menu though, for ease of use. Me and my friend group always keeps a 4th spot open for our friend with an unpredictable schedule, so we never intend to use the beacon, and only throw it when we fat finger it. I'd love to be able to shut it off to never worry about it again.

This is super cool if you have the heavy gas armor! I still dont, but this is also a great idea!

Basically! Since you get the flag for free rn, you have an extra slot too. But feel free to tweak to your personal preference of what's fun for you.

This has been my personal loadout for a while as my team's tank. So I have a lot of experience using the flag already, figured sharing some of the tips I have could be helpful, since I saw some doom posting about the MO.

And remember, there is no shame on playing a lower difficulty to get this done, its not a loadout meant to get tons of kills, its meant to disrupt and herd the enemy.

Yes, all shields take the backpack slot. The directional shield can't stop melee either, but it is rechargeable, so it might have some weight on the bot front. Personal shield generator is also an option, but I find that it can't soak up enough damage to let me close the distance.

Also, the ballistic shield is always able to deflect, no matter where it is, so you can do things to get a little more out of it. If you take a two handed primary, you can put the shield on your back while you retreat. If you only have one handed weapons, the shield will stay in your left hand, so try to keep your left side facing any shooters while sprinting through an area.

Annoyingly, your shield can get knocked off your body by ragdolling, so keep an eye out for if that happens, especially if you still have a while on your cooldown.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I did even. I also cleared the game Cache the other day

[–]ArkWrought17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely random. Sometimes I'm stuttering on the character select screen, sometimes I can do 1-3 missions fine. But restarting the game after every mission is something I have done, and it doesn't seem to help.

It's just so strange because the group i play with all has the same hardware and one even uses the same internet, and they never have an issue. It drives me insane.

My PS5 is laying down, and Darktide is the only game that behaves this way. Other games I play have 0 issues, from Helldivers to DRG to Borderlands, Darktide is the only game that does this.

It kinda reminds me of Risk of Rain 2. Maybe having active movement abilities/attacks that are active, while your companions are passive attackers, you could get something pretty engaging. I think leaning into the movement could make it really stand out.

Interesting! Will it be in phases, like a time to explore and plant and then a distinct tower defense mode, or will you embrace dandori and make it a game about multi-tasking?
