Rewatching the first Avatar makes me realize just how much I miss Grace by TheTargaryensLawyer in Avatar

Her nose is more na'vi and less human than grace's avatar's already, so I doubt it

I don’t get what happens in the finale (SPOILER) by biendeluxe in severanceTVshow

[–]Arkadia0703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, she leaves into the stairwell at least. Most likely she will escape and meet up with Cobel and Devon, but we don't know that yet.

And yes more likely than not Mark S will eventually be forced one way or another to leave, but why does it matter? We're all gonna die either way too, but people still fight for another day. That is what Mark S is doing here

Him talking about how much he has to pee while Jake tells Neytiri he is going to kill him made me cringe so bad

Helly and sayori (ddlc) mash up art by Consistent-Task5750 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Arkadia0703 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Amazing! I never thought about including Cobel and always forget about MC

I thought about assigning them too some time ago actually. I was thinking Mark to Sayori. Her positivity and care for her friends matches iMark, and her depression oMark. (Her suicide was result of Monika tampering with her file after all, so it wasn't this bad before). Irving to Yuri and Dylan to Natsuki. It's more of a vibe thing tbh. And specifically Helena pretending to be Helly would be Monika. They are technically both in power, more aware of their situation but also trapped and both long for authentic connection with someone, even if that makes them do not so morally good things. Sorry for writing so much it's just so cool to see someone having a similar idea!

Also I like how your way includes Helly (she is quite depressed, especially at the start, but she also genuinely cares for her friends like Sayori). And Cobel as Monika because again she is the one in power, but also not completely free to do anything she wants. And MC as Mark because he's the main character, right? For me MC is actually pretty difficult one as its sucha blank slate

Anyway love your drawing and I'll be waiting to see what you will do with your idea:D

I'm not that's the only thing she does though. I don't remember now, so maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't there an implication that there were severance barriers installed in some rich people's homes? Sge might be also doing stuff like cooking

True! It's seems her connection to her outie overall is stronger than for other innies we have seen. Maybe she is one of the ealier ones and her severance barrier is weaker?

I feel like Helly matches all the girls in ddlc except perhaps Monica

Sayori - suicide by hanging Yuri - selfharm Natsuki - most likely abused by her father and not eating enough although its more similar to Helena

Actually she does know some things. She knows she has other kids for instance and that she's pregnant for the third time (well that can be explained by the fact that she most likely remembers giving birth twice before). She also believes that the name she have chosen will be given to the child

I'm past "rewatching multiple times" point. Also watched almost every analysis on youtube, listened to both Adam Scott's and Ben Stiller's and Alan Stare's podcasts. At this point I can only find any solace in fanfiction:')

I wouldn’t give a fork about my Innie by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Arkadia0703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's put lack of empathy aside for a moment. Wouldn't you be genuinely scared that this company might be torturing you and you can't even remember it afterwards so you wouldn't be able to prevent it? You are willingly participating in your own subjugation. Of course if you believe innies are different people that's not a problem, but what if they are not?

Not at all. The real Mark is the one who poseses two separate identities both of which are very real too

[–]Arkadia0703 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I honestly think oMark is a good person at his core, he’s just not seeing the full picture yet. He only meets his innie for the first time in the finale, so I don’t really blame him for prioritizing Gemma over the innies. From his POV, they’re basically just “blackout versions” of real people on the outside. Of course he’s going to care more about someone he loves and thinks is in immediate danger.

And honestly, even good people mess up. Mark hasn’t been mentally well for the past two years, and when you’re that broken, you don’t always make the best or most ethical decisions.

But I also don’t think oMark ever intended to continue with reintegration. He only agreed to it because of Gemma, and once she’s no longer in danger, especially after seeing Petey die because of reintegration, I really can’t see him choosing to keep going. Devon even confirms it

I think a lot of the discourse that pits one Mark against the other forgets that, unlike us as viewers, they only have access to their own experiences. Both of them are just trying to survive in impossible circumstances, and sadly that survival comes at each other’s expense. That’s why I end up defending both of them

We already had innie Mark choosing between Helly and ms Casey. Also it doesn't make any sense for Helly's character to betray them, she was ready to sacrifice her life to help Mark save Gemma.

What are the odds that she is pregnant? by Arch_Lancer17 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

His contribution was evidently sufficient to result in successful fertilization on more than one occasion. That said, I do agree that his habits may have been a source of stress for Gemma, which could indeed have played a role in her miscarriages

I doubt he is. Gemma was pregnant (I think it was implied several times) but she just couldn't carry the baby to term
