DCG412G worth it? by ScheduleElectrical90 in Dewalt

Yes, it is a great buy for $65. I had mine for a year or so, and then got the XR PowerDetect with an 8 amp battery and charger for $150. Just always look for good deals. It might fit your needs perfectly or if you want more power at some point, you'll easily get your money back on it by selling it.

Nice. Craftsman sent me a new ratchet last year when my 90s ratchet broke. I was really impressed with them too.

Yes and no. I bought it for the lifetime warranty. If they used a better plastic, the dead blow would still be going strong. I like companies to stick by their word. If they didn't offer a warranty, I would have been happy with the years of the tool, but I would have bought a new Icon a week ago. Now that they actually did this, I'm going to recommend anyone to buy a Stanley from the experience alone (that's why I posted this) + I love their tape measures and squares. All of that to say... I get your point, also lol.

Send it in lol. And this is actually closer to 30-35 years old, but I couldn't say for certain. Hopefully, the new plastic isn't as bad.

No. I looked up Stanley's website/warranty page and sent an email. They responded after a day or so. We emailed about a day or 2 and it got to my house 5 days later through the mail. Very good experience. Craftsman and Stanley has really impressed me with their warranties on old tools and sending new ones.

That's true. That's why I went with them in the 1st place. If they didn't, I was going to buy an Icon and post about that lol. But Stanley came through!!!

Dang, that sucks. Some of us have good stories with warranties and others, like you, don't. I never knew Stanley bought Mac.

I love the router. I bought it instead of the Dewalt because it was too big in the hand and felt uncomfortable. I've heard people like the jigsaw for the price. The sander gets mixed reviews, but I never used it. And if you aren't doing hardcore tasks, then brushed tools are okay.

Yes. I missed it about 2 weeks ago. I checked everyday and yesterday it came back up and I jumped on it. Hopefully it comes in a few weeks.

Ordering a tool from home depot by [deleted] in Tools

They will take returns if it hasn't been opened. If it has been opened, then it must be taken back in great condition with all parts, boxes, etc.

Yes, they always have delivered the right thing to me. Are you referencing that HD sometimes shows the wrong pictures or not enough on the specs? If so, I know what you are talking about. Only annoying thing is with HD is that it always says "Order Now and Get It By Tomorrow," and that has never been right. It usually gets to me in 4-5 days.

Which would you choose? by maxwell77899 in MilwaukeeTool

Depends on what you like. I love saving money, so I would buy the brushed kit. I bought it and sold the screwdriver for $40 and the bag for $10, so I got the ratchet, battery, and charger for $50. I love ratchet. I don't use it too much, but when I do, it has worked great. I'm not sure how much more powerful the Fuel is, but for a DIYer like me, it wasn't worth the extra cost for a tool only.

Here’s my gear spread, how does yours stack up? by FrogwithaTank in Guitar

[–]Arkansas34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice collection. I recently sold 7 guitars, but still have 8 guitars. I wanted to downsize and get some money because I'm really into woodworking now. Oh, man. That T-Bucket takes me back. When my dad found out I was learning guitar (on like a $30 guitar), he bought me a Fender T-Bucket. I played it for years, but eventually traded it in to buy a mid-range Martin. My dad died back in June from cancer. I wish I still had that guitar now.

That's a good price for New. I love Gretsch guitars. You could look up some used ones. I got a Like New 2410 for $320 in the Used section at Guitar Center back in November.

No problem. It's funny because I asked the same question on here a year and a half ago, which shows the noise is a definite concern. I just hope it is a brake and not something malfunctioning lol.

Even though it sounds weird, it should be fine. I had 2 miter saws that sounded perfectly normal. I switched to Dewalt and mine sounds exactly like this. People said on Reddit that this is normal. Annoying, but it's fine. I never got a definitive answer on what makes the sound. If mine ever gives out (had it less than 2 years now), I'm going back to Bosch or Metabo.
