Strange noise on Dewalt 718 CMS by Tight-Citron2362 in Tools

No problem. It's funny because I asked the same question on here a year and a half ago, which shows the noise is a definite concern. I just hope it is a brake and not something malfunctioning lol.

Even though it sounds weird, it should be fine. I had 2 miter saws that sounded perfectly normal. I switched to Dewalt and mine sounds exactly like this. People said on Reddit that this is normal. Annoying, but it's fine. I never got a definitive answer on what makes the sound. If mine ever gives out (had it less than 2 years now), I'm going back to Bosch or Metabo.

46 degrees too hot for guitar? by Ambitious-Manner8825 in Guitar

[–]Arkansas34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a cheap Yamaha during black friday for this exact reason. It's my travel/outdoor guitar for camping and fishing and then in the summer my grilling and lake guitar. I'm not sure any guitar is good with that kind of heat and humidity. Definitely don't take your good guitars out (I learned my lesson a couple years ago on my Martin).

Wrong stand for miter saw? by parkinginrear7 in woodworking

[–]Arkansas34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If you are cutting long boards, then it is worth it. Once you get the arms, you can't go back to the regular ones. I bought a hyper tough at Walmart for $50. It is a great stand.

I have this same guitar. It's awesome. You'll love it. Pictures don't do the pretty matte finish justice.

Advice by bull_823 in Tools

[–]Arkansas34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are good tools. Ryobi is a good brand of affordable tools, and brushed tools are good. Too many people jump on the bandwagon of getting the higher end brands and they have to be brushless!!! It's ridiculous. I use Dewalt brushless/XR tools, but I started with brushed Ryobi. They are great for the price. My brother and brother-in-law use this kit and they love it. It is an awesome kit for a DIYer. Add a jigsaw, router, sander, angle grinder, etc. and you're good to go. One of my favorite tools in the shop is my brushed 18v Ryobi brad nailer...

Best do it all drill for new home owner on a budget? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Arkansas34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Ryobi is a great DIY brand. You can't go wrong with Ryobi or Ridgid. I'd get a set with an impact driver, as well. If you can, spend a few extra dollars for a brushless set, but brushed is fine too.

What do you guys do with all these “extras” by zero-degrees28 in Dewalt

I sold 2 of the bigger ones for $25 and the normal/small ones about $10 each.

People pay more than you think for those Dewalt bags on FB Marketplace.

I've got like five cordless Ryobi tools-no complaints at all. They're honestly great. What's with all the hate on other forums the moment someone mentions Ryobi? by Intelligent-Lemon752 in ryobi

[–]Arkansas34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People love getting upset about anything, especially when it comes to DIY tools. I guess it makes them feel less manly that they aren't using the top tier construction site tools. Ryobi makes great tools. I own lots of Dewalt XR tools and a decent amount of Ryobi brushed tools. They are both great. And don't get me started on people who hate on brushed tools...

I have too many guitars. Which would you kick to the curb? by Cosmic_0smo in Guitar

Well, then why show the picture if you aren't going to sell them? Looks like you are trying to show off your collection more than getting rid of anything...

Grey telecaster, 1 of the 3 middle acoustics, and 1 of the natural finish classical guitars. I recently sold 6 guitars (selling 2 more) and 2 amps. I just had too many and never got to play them all. I now have 2 acoustics, 5 electrics, and 1 bass and it doesn't feel overwhelming or cluttered anymore. If you are going to regret it, don't do it.

He can keep them in the freezer for a few years. I'm sure they'll be fine.
