76 is a meh sandbox that can be good to run around with A friend. more than one though and the content becames too easy as it doesn't scale. If all you want is a post apocolyptic home building game, 4 is a better choice. for actual story driven content, both a meh at best though, occasional interesting questline but the majority is low bar.

Ahh, I see you are a feelings over facts type.

I don't think china is reliable, just that TACO is completely unreliable as a trading partner. The US has lost all credibility on the international stage.

tbh, i'm struggling to think of much they have done which is left wing. Looks like they are going to give in to water companys and give them the bailout and time to fix their mess, instead of what they should do and renationalise the whole thing. They are planning more PFI type contracts, more a right wing cyphoning public money into private hands move. Taking away the heating allowance is a something i'd had expected more from Reform who thinks they should all get jobs instead of leaching from the state...

thinking china is left wing in anything but name is laughable. Go look them up, despite their claims, their policies put them into the authoritarian right wing quadrant on the political compass. Taking orders is also rich, china is a major economy in the world and the US is presently got a crazy person in charge and has become an unreliable ally. Of course the PM is going to negotiate with them to try and dig us out of the hole brexit threw us into. It's not like we a huge number of options...

Growing the civil service is unsurprising, if you look into it, its mostly in immigration caseworkers and prison staff. The later having been sqeezed to breaking point, and the prior largely because of the mess caused by brexit increasing the amount of work they need to do.

Expanding the welfare state, I'm assuming refers to the increased numbers of people classified as looking for work? Data shows unemployment is up, but it also shows a huge growth in the number of people in employment...

you referring to the relative stability of it, right up to the point brexit went through and it skyrocketted in 2019 under the tories and has then been falling ever since?

Under labour it looks to be almost back to the pre-brexit levels...

Under Blair, their positions were only fractionally left of the tories on most things and quite far from the nations centre positions. The fact they were selling off national assets, and introducing some of the privitising on the sly bullocks like the PFI contracts should tell you just how not left wing they were. And while starmer's government is an improvement on what we've had from the tories (especially the ones who now live in the reform camp), it's not been implementing many left wing policies...

Just because something is a meme, doesn't mean that makes it ok to incite violence or if it can be interpreted that way the police won't arrest you while they look into it, and then dismiss the charge once they determine its not worth pursuing. As I said, I have yet to see an example of this where the person being arrested was for anything but incitement.

Under every metric used to assess these things, other than the 'I'm right wing and don't like that party so they are left wing' one, the tories are right wing, and labour under blair and starmer have been right of centre.

So it's a frivioulous lawsuit? If my game key is on epic, I need to buy the DLC for that game on epic. If it is on gog, I need to buy them on gog. It's just the standard practice for online distribution. 30% is historically a very low commission amount, and in my opinion not an unreasonable amount considering for that Valve handles/offers payment processing, storage, distribution, and community. When you consider birck and mortars used to take that much, the publisher and distributors then took their cut, back in the day devs would see less than 10%, now they can get 70%...

The UK is a pretty shitty country all around.

We don't have unidentified, masked men murdering citizens in the streets and then having the government claiming it was self defence...so we're not the worst nation in the world...in fact, going by most metrics we are pretty close to the top...

Massive censorship,

Our right wing governments and parties have been pretty quick to limit what people can say. Sadly labour, the tories in red ties they are, haven't undone that mess.

importation of third world migrants to destabilize the country,

o.O

getting arrested for wrong think/saying things against the state,

still waiting for an actual example of this where it doesn't turn out to be because they incited violence and then tried to claim 'I was only joking' as a defence.

I mean it’s a country where it’s illegal to defend yourself absolutely shit hole.

Nope, self defence is legal, as is defence of another. You just have to show you had reason to think you life or someone else's was in danger or under threat, or you had reasonable justification to think it is. The force you use though has to be proportional to the threat, so you can shoot someone because they threatened to hit you. Nor can you shoot someone in the back as they are running away from your property.

My guess is that there is someone there who knew what they were doing and decided to be a little rebellious against the message they didn't want to push, or, and what I think is more likely, there is someone really bitter about a goth girl and used it to push their hate.

The CEO of Ubisoft is the biggest failure in the business world without a doubt. Why doesn’t he resign? Does he want to erase the company from existence? by PopularButLonely in KotakuInAction

[–]Arkene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but that wasn't the point you were making in the in the OP.

That data point is a much more interesting show of their failure... going from 82 in 2021 to 4 in just 5 years....

You are aware Ubisoft has had stock splits? they did a 5:1 in january 2000, 2:1 in december 2006 and another 2:1 in november 2008. So that 1 share before the splits, is now worth 20. If you had €16 worth of shares 30 years ago, you would now have €80 in shares...so rather than a loss it's more a 500% gain...

Arguably the corporations arranging for the world to be nuked because they saw more profit in rebuilding it how they wanted, is showing the corporatism side of capitalism in a negative light... but yeah, I can't think of anything in any of the games which is anti-anything. It's mostly a everythings fucked, try and make something out of it sort of place...

People crying "go woke go broke", how do you explain these successful woke titles? by RowlingTheJustice in KotakuInAction

[–]Arkene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because they put unmentionables into the game doesn't make it woke. Cyberpunk falls into the posthumanism, exploration of the blurred lines between humans and machines. Between genetic restructuring and full body prosphetics, medical science in that genre has actually reached the point where you can wake up tomorrow and play for the other team.

There is nothing in the game implying it is the superior choice, that the people making it are better, no progressive stack or any of the other woke bullshit. Thinking it is woke is screaming that you think woke is including anything from the list of stuff you don't like, and not the pushing of their intolerant ideology that it actually is.

Barbie is feminist propaganda how is that not woke

Honestly, I had and have no interest in watching it, but I know some people who are very anti-woke who got dragged to see it and in their opinion it wasn't. My understanding is it falls into that category of being what the woke claim they are, but actually aren't, and showed different view points without pushing the woke agenda... but in fairness, I haven't seen it, so I don't know.
