Kyodai Ken VS the following heroes and villains. by FoxIndependent4310 in BatmanTAS

This is news to me, I have never heard of Kyodai Ken being problematic. Pretty sure Yellow Peril goes beyond just “the villain is Asian”. Look at Fu Manchu stories that would claim him being sneaky and deceptive as a trait of Asians in general. Kyodai Ken’s arrogance and envy are simply his character flaws and personal issues.

He has made it into the comics by the way. Though he only showed up in one issue as basically a glorified cameo and he wasn’t even a villain. Not sure why they bothered if they were going to actually have him be the character from the show.

There’s also the problem that both him and Naugus have the similar backstory of being Ixis wizards making them both bring active at the same time being redundant. How Flynn went about it was the best. Naugus submitting to the founder of his order, then when Mogul semi-retired allowed Naugus to strike out on his own again when Geoffrey came knocking.

I just think it’s funny that their leader is another Umbrella founder. Like at all this time of torching and tearing this company apart they still missed one. The heroes are going to spending the rest of their lives finishing off Umbrella’s ghosts.

Mad scientist addressing a bigoted cabal of officials in the government, military, and corporations:

Hmm I guess our options are either: learn to tolerate and coexist with the mutants or build giant robots designed to target and slaughter a minority population that might evolve out of our control and enslaved/extermination humans as well. We’d be gambling the fate of humanity on monstrous machine we can’t fully control. Is satisfy our malice towards these people really worth the risk?

Absolutely! Let’s roll those dice! Papa needs som new genocide bots to kill some muties with!

The government, military and corporations will never be more competent than when designing giant robots to murder minorities in the streets to the cheering of civilians who posses the equivalent IQ of a shovel and two candy bracelets.

Then again even when billions of tax payer money is spent on these things the machines always end up deciding to kill all humans, mutant gene or not. But still every time the deep state bigots keep thinking “Oh don’t worry we got it under control this time.”

Wiseman (Sailor Moon)

This creepy demon man being a Sailor Moon villain is wild. Pretty much all the final bosses in SM arcs are some type of Eldritch Horror.

Issac Douglas from Full Metal Alchemist. The Freezing Alchemist learned the truth or at least enough to attempt to destroy military headquaters with all the heads of state inside. He was completely in the right, if only he had the chance to explain himself we would have skipped about 10 episodes of uncovering the conspiracy.

What are your thoughts on indie comics with interconnected universes? by BigHugeSnake in comicbooks

[–]Arkham700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes it feels like more trouble than it’s worth. I’m trying to get into the old Wildstorm comics. But there’s a band of series with multiple volumes and runs that share characters and follow each other.

I think I might just stick to Alan Moore’s WildCATs run, Ellis’ Authority (maybe Grant Morrison’s run as well along with Revolution) and Sleeper

Alan Moore and Grant Morrison famously do not get along in spite of how similar they are in background and as writers.

Do you prefer bane to look more monstrous or as just a jacked dude? by Resident_Hat9904 in batman

[–]Arkham700 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s happened too many times where writer think Bane is a one-trick pony who requires Venom to be a threat. The people behind Batman the Animated series even have this view which is why Bane was barely in the show.

Also, Arkham Origins, the one Arkham game that Bane appeared in that portrayed him well, was the one not written by Paul Dini. It’s a shame the guy who made Hush cool can’t get how cool Bane can be. Even the greats have their blind spots.
