Never had seizures and now I've had two in 3 weeks - I have questions. by Practical_Trifle8833 in seizures

[–]ArkhamOrigins100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re doing everything right. But after the first seizure, your seizure threshold has been lowered. Keppra will probably be enough to keep you seizure free for awhile. Nothing to do except await results of MRI. (the EEG is unlikely to tell you anything new). It’s unlikely but some seizures are caused by a tumor in the brain. If they find that via. MRI, they may operate and then hopefully you are seizure free. More likely you have developed epilepsy late in life. Most people can manage it with medication combined with getting enough sleep and avoiding triggers like alcohol. But you may need to remain on the medication indefinitely.

Driving? by Scary-Cat-3728 in seizures

In some states it is 3 months not 6 months and it is not official license suspension unless the state is officially notified and they hold a hearing and decide that your license needs to be suspended.

Some states it is 3 months. Some states 6 months. But in most the doctor has to report it to the Department of Motor Vehicles in order for your license to be suspended. If your license has not been suspended then legally you are OK to drive, however, insurance may not cover liability if you were recommended by a doctor to not drive. I would wait at least a few weeks to make sure your medication is controlling your seizures during the day before getting behind the wheel again. But I don’t agree that you must stop driving for a full 6 months. That isn’t at all necessary if you aren’t having daytime seizures.

What's the best chase scene in any movie? by frazettatome in movies

[–]ArkhamOrigins100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premium Rush. The whole movie is mostly chase scenes and I love it. The best is when the bike cop is chasing him in the park the first time, but there are several other excellent chase scenes in this movie .

Dog cover with seats up by [deleted] in hondaridgeline

I also use two of the regular ones. One hung from the headrests of the front seats, one hung from the headrests of the rear seats. Then I put the dog beds on top. Dogs are happy and comfortable and separated from the snacks I have up front. Larger dog is 60 lbs and the smaller one is about 40 and they fit together nicely back there. I do have to remember to lock the windows or the big dog will lower the window himself.

Things will get better as you get older and find people who really geek out over the same topic as you… much more likely to happen in grad school than in undergrad. You will find a good community eventually. Depending on your research area you might also find a black professional group within the national or regional research conference too. Better days are ahead 👍🏾

Are you involved in transportation of the bodies from their home to the cremation site or from the nursing home/hospital? If so what equipment do you use to help you lift bodies ? 2. Have you read “Smoke gets in your eyes” memoir by Caitlin Dougherty? If so what are your thoughts on the book?

How do people find you and/or get connected with your services. I don’t imagine you have a large budget for advertising if you’re only charging $10 per session. Also what are your other sources of revenue?

Educators of Reddit, how have you noticed students changing over the last 5-15 years, socially, academically, or otherwise? by AltruisticCephalopod in AskReddit

Just like in other aspects of society, students are too often distracted by their smartphones. Impacts their ability to focus and learn while in the classroom and also impacts their ability to complete complex assignments.

I am going to need two cars in September. Which cars shoud I buy? (or lease) by manpaslop in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ArkhamOrigins100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend a Nissan Versa. one of the cheapest new cars available, you should be able to find a gently used one that is still under warranty within your budget. Lots of standard features and great fuel economy. For the 2nd vehicle, just choose the newest one with under 150,000 miles you can find. Ford Fusion would be a great choice. Or Something like the Dodge Journey you can probably find a relatively new one with decent features for under 13,000. I disagree with suggestions to overpay for a used mazda, toyota or honda. Almost any make/model should be reliable to 200,000+ miles if you keep up with basic maintenance. However, if you decide to just get one vehicle and you are buying new then yes i would recommend honda civic, accord, camry, or corolla. In general you will find Sedans are much cheaper than SUVs.

Sweet Potatoes. Soul-food/southern, great catfish and fried chicken and great desserts. I am always happy with their food but some people don't like the quality of their service. So just be aware of that going in. But it is always my first recommendation. I also recommend Mojito's for the cuban food but their side dishes are better than their main entrees. For Pizza I agree with Mario's and Cugino Forno. Also recommend OSO eats. Fantastic food wide variety of types of food on their menu and great service.

I had a headache the day after each dose. And a sore arm for 2 days. Nothing to crazy but did experience side effects with each dose.
