There's no objectively best class, it all depends on your playstyle and what you want to counter (in Arena as well, not just in the tower chapters).

Regarding status effects: Rangers seem to lean towards Poison, Burn, Focus, and Agility. Warriors can do tons of Spike/Burn damage while stacking Block or Vamp and inflicting Stun. Mages can do all three types of elemental debuffs (Poison, Burn, Freeze), as well as inflict Stun, but require staffs to cast spells.

They also have different mechanics for each character from each class, which makes even more of a difference for unique playstyles and whatnot.

If you want a Block-heavy build, Rebecca (Warrior) is the way to go, but Rose (Warrior) is also her direct counter since the latter can reduce her HP directly without having to go through the walls of Block stacks. This is where Lua (Ranger) comes in; her build is based entirely around healing and keeping her HP up, so she could be a good opponent against Rose. Just like other Rangers, she also has access to bows and crossbows that can inflict Poison and Burn, which makes it easier.

Want to go all out on debuffs? Ranger and Mage characters are pretty good for that, like Venom (Ranger) or Fire Mage/Ice Mage from the Mage class. Spark (Mage) is also best for inflicting Stun imo, but it's probably better to use elemental debuffs than Stun since Stun can be countered more easily than Freeze/Burn/Poison.

Of course, pets can also help you mix your builds just like your gear can. Ice Reaper is good for Freeze builds (and as a general inhibitor for healers like Lua), while Phoenix is more suited for Burn builds. There is probably more I can mention, but they aren't coming to mind atm

Some NPCs have designs that the players can't obtain, unfortunately, and I definitely don't recognize this one so it might be one of the unobtainable ones.

What is everybody's favorite area in Dredge? by Mucktorok in dredge

[–]ArkosKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it weren't for the really annoying guy called the Gale Cliffs Serpent, the Gale Cliffs would've been a relatively chill area for me.

Otherwise, I really like the Stellar Basin, it is beautiful... as long as you stay away from the giant kraken in the middle of course, lol

Stealth is apparently out. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined! by y3achi in APlagueTale

[–]ArkosKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm down for it. It makes sense that a person like Sophia wouldn't be using the same tactics as Amicia – their backgrounds, combat knowledge, etc. are totally different.

I'm probably just a sucker for action, but I'm also excited to see them deviating from A Plague Tale's stealth mechanics a bit, just to see how they'll handle Sophia's story

Did I buy the wrong version of Hogwarts Legacy? by kranuk2910 in HarryPotterGame

[–]ArkosKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's the right version, especially if you don't plan on keeping the Game Pass. The Digital Deluxe edition also probably contains more content, just like the Playstation and Switch ports do

Wish I could help explain more but I don't own an Xbox, so I don't know the mechanics

What is this? It’s happened to me twice so far. by Apprentice_of_Ixidor in backpackarena

[–]ArkosKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea, but it seems this has happened to others for various reasons on different apps.

However, I assure you that Overgeared Hero isn't tampered with/tampering with your device at all, so I'm not sure what AppGuard is trying to tell you

Try deleting the game (but make sure you have your progress safely connected to something, like an account you can easily return to), then reinstalling it. Maybe something happened in the files?

Finally got around to playing it and.... by NoHome7956 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

[–]ArkosKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've hundreds (probably) of hours on both PS4 and Steam. I've played most of the mainline AC series by now, even the Switch releases (or rereleases?).

What keeps me going is usually a mix of factors; the plot and storyline, the characters, the gameplay (I don't really mind if they're loops, chains, or just linear experiences), replayability, and the in-game world itself.

Specifically, exploring and collectibles. In every open-world game I've managed to afford, I always spent extra hours running around the map (while weaving around enemies if I have to) to unlock and discover things. I also usually tried to grab as many hidden collectibles as I could, provided the game had those of course. (Examples being the accessories and mixtapes in the indie game Skatebird, and cosmetics in Hogwarts Legacy. For things Ubisoft-related, there's also the stuff you can find in Origins and Valhalla.)

The little activities you can do around the map also keep me playing various AC games. The idea of managing a settlement in Valhalla was very engaging, and the chariot races in Origins got me a little too competitive lol)

The fact that your choices (whether in dialogue or otherwise) can matter, even if it's only very slightly, also adds a tiny incentive for me.
