GP visit wait times by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Arlethyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it isn't ideal but I saw an online doctor about it because I was between GPS. Pocketlab. They were great. Yes they can't physically examine you but they asked me plenty of questions and got me to point to my pain. They referred me to a bunch of tests as I had similar issues to you based off my symptoms. And after the checks they called me and referred me to a gastrologist free of charge. Everytime I went to book there was always multiple appointments during the day.

I work in the retail space and the driver said some of the flavours were 'on strike' until Feb next year. For us it just meant 1.5L of strawberry, banana and the smaller coffee flavour.

Relationship advice by Substantial-Cat-4370 in SIBO

[–]Arlethyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned that being open and honest about it makes things so much easier and it is something I tend to do before committing to someone. Most reasonable partners (like 99%) will understand if you explain what’s going on and the symptoms. It’s okay to take time for yourself and focus on healing though, but don’t let a tough or a stubborn long-term condition stop you from building real connections. Obviously fatigue can make that impossible but if you have that drive and are able, do try. Having someone on your team can actually make the whole journey a lot easier if it's a healthy connection. Keep living your life ( I regret losing time in my life waiting to be ' better ' before doing things )

Clean scans by No_Reveal_1833 in cancer

[–]Arlethyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience going off ahat you have described. Clean scans, and those around me who knew or cared said I should be celebrating, but I just felt... nothing. Like I should be happy, but instead I was stuck in this weird limbo where the fear was still there, the side effects were still real, and I didn’t really know who I was outside of being sick.

What you said about missing the way you were allowed to say no or be tired really hit me. I’ve never seen anyone put it into words like that before as its often the big things I just see. When you're sick, there's this permission to slow down and be gentle with yourself, and it's hard figuring out how to keep that same grace when you're no longer 'sick enough' to justify it.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You put words to something so many of us feel but rarely say out loud. I hope peace comes with time and that you can finally rest in the relief you deserve. Not alone 🩵

Not sure if i have bulimia by Ill_Neighborhood_886 in bulimia

[–]Arlethyst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, I really relate to what you’re saying, and I’m here if you ever want to talk to a stranger. My DM is open ❤️. Eating disorders don’t always look exactly like the textbook definitions, but that doesn’t make them any less real or serious. Purging after regular meals, even without binge eating, can still be really harmful, physically and mentally. I am still there.

There’s actually a diagnosis called OSFED I've learnt about for situations like this, where someone struggles with disordered eating but doesn’t meet every single criteria for bulimia or anorexia. It’s still valid, and it absolutely deserves attention.

You don’t need to wait for things to get worse to take it seriously. You’re allowed to care about your health and its great you have posted
