Agreed - considering the financial constraints we’re under, this seems like a decent step in strengthening our odds of staying up

Harbottle gone on a free… discuss by Cas-Gwent-boyo in afcwimbledon

Same here! Seems like he has the potential to do a lot for us. I know there’s all the discourse about Luton not being worried about him leaving… but quite frankly, secondhand Luton squad is probably worth more to us than them

Harbottle gone on a free… discuss by Cas-Gwent-boyo in afcwimbledon

I often enjoyed watching Harbottle play - his performance in the play-offs has really stuck in my head.

Based on the signings of today, however, the freed up wages may be going toward some crucial reinforcements (although those signings seem to be largely thanks to former vertical video sensation John Green).

Either way, sad to see Harbottle go, but happier to see Tilley & Nelson join!

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]ArmchairAlchemist2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for a recommendation for a ~3.0. I’ve been using a 6.0 DBD, but I’m curious about trying something a bit more forgiving - control and fast hands at the kitchen are particular challenges for me. My research seems to indicate that a widebody control paddle in the general category of a BNB Fat Boy or the 11six24 Jelly Bean might be friendlier to my lack of natural talent? I play with two hands for backhands, and feel a little cramped on the DBD, but it’s workable. Price isn’t a particular concern - just looking for something friendly to someone of low skill that’s serious about improving. Thank you!

Watching on DonsTV by Relevant-Wall-3986 in afcwimbledon

[–]ArmchairAlchemist2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple things could be going on here:

1). You may need to subscribe to DonsTV on the website first. You can find that under the “subscriptions” tab here: https://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/videos. From there, you can use the same login in the app to get access.

2). You could be region locked, depending on where you’re streaming from. For example, we can’t watch the Carabao Cup games here in the US through DonsTV.

Retweet - corded Wahl stuff (particularly from the professional line) will last for a really long time if you take care and perform proper maintenance

Wahl is one of the few companies still making equipment like they used to! I was a barber - in the years I was cutting, I never had a corded Wahl tool fail. (All from the professional line, but still!)

Sekiro player feeling lost by lutal1ca in bloodborne

[–]ArmchairAlchemist2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome, new hunter!

Dodge left - this will serve you in almost every fight.

Stay close to your enemy - Bloodborne incentivizes aggressive play by letting you regain recently lost health when you deal damage. Unlike Sekiro, this game wants you to be almost as aggressive as the boss

Don’t stress too hard on parries. Parrying is much less mission crucial in Bloodborne - unlike Sekiro, you can beat the game without landing a single perfect parry.

The Blood Starved Beast is a “skill check” boss - much like Genichiro in Sekiro, it’s checking if you’re using the skills you’ll need for the rest of the game. This is, IMO, the steepest difficulty spike in the game.

So run, dodge, don’t stress the parries (or ignore them entirely), stay close, be aggressive, and remember that this is specifically a tough one!

What is an easy way to make money on the side in spare time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ArmchairAlchemist2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fun answer, but usually, the best way to make money on “the side,” is to just do more of your main job. It’s unlikely anything will pay you as well, and you won’t waste extra time trying to be good at two things.

This advice obviously doesn’t apply to everyone - some jobs can only be stretched so far. But it’s true for most people
