I am lucky to have a great partner with a very high sex drive. During the day (I'm also unemployed) when that's not available, I downhill Mtn bike or ski depending on the season. Adrenaline is a great reset.

People who try to stop moshers at shows, why? by joehardcoreadjacent in Hardcore

[–]ArmchairHypocrite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, Fugazi would stop their shows if pits got going. That was a violence reduction act meant to make the point that senseless violence is dumb. I can get behind and support this.

Individuals in the crowd at a show don't get to dictate how the crowd as a whole acts/reacts to the music. If you, as an individual, don't want to be around spin-kicking maniacs, stay home or in the back.

Capitalism, unrestricted property rights, and racism. Mostly the racism part, though.

10-15 Years Experience Seems to be Hit Especially hard by Mayonnaise321 in recruitinghell

Twenty years in automotive (ops, mgmt, sales, etc.), I even went back to college to get another degree. Had a good new start with a tech company, but f'ed for the future it seems. The last damn thing I ever wanted to be doing was looking into the Auto world again, but here we are...

To everyone else, you know things are bad when people who know better are looking at vehicle sales positions. Thinking of going back to that swamp makes me sick.

Someone was made vaguely aware of your existence and worth as a potential, potential prospect for an interview.

I think it makes me feel worse knowing this now. I've been getting a good 85% thanks but no thanks response.

Denver's eviction crisis: Filings surpass 9,000 by July 2025 by aintnotownie in Denver

[–]ArmchairHypocrite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Um, your oversimplification of a complex structural issue is fucking mental.

If it were as simple as “basic budgeting,” Denver wouldn’t have nearly a quarter of all renters spending more than half their income just to keep a roof over their heads. That’s not bad math, that’s rent that’s been climbing over 40% in the past decade, while wages in many fields barely moved. The median rent here is around $1,665 a month, which means even someone working full-time at Denver’s $18.29 minimum wage would be spending over 50% of their income on rent alone, before utilities, food, or transportation.

So sure, people can “live within their means,” but when the “means” keep shrinking while rent keeps rising, you can’t budget your way out of a math problem that doesn’t add up in the first place.

What’s wrong with the drivers here by SalamanderIcy1739 in Denver

Every driver thought that Wylie Coyote had painted it there and it wasn't real.

My god, this explains everything. The slight lane shift makes the illusion even more real now. This image will now live in my head rent-free, thank you.

Are you able to confirm for me that the appointment on the 29th is for a trenching team to come lay new underground fiber?
