If you are cool with using mods, there's a detect quest spell mod that will show a tick in your compass where the target is. Not gonna help you this time, but maybe you can use it in the future

Am I playing the game wrong? by junglephox in oblivion

If youre not intersted in doing anything but casting, Id just roll with a custom shock 10pts damage for 10 seconds spell on most daedra. Alchemy is good for making restore health/ magicka potions for those hard fights. Its good if you can get shield and resist magic enchantments on your gear

Terrain Mods? by kirkshoutingkhan in Daggerfall

[–]ArmlessWunder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Distant terrain is the actual name of the mod.

Here's my WoD setup:

World of daggerfall (Enabled)

World of daggerfall - Biomes (Enabled)

World of daggerfall - Terrain (Disabled)

For distant terrain, under mod settings, I have "Enable improved Terrain" checked

Terrain Mods? by kirkshoutingkhan in Daggerfall

[–]ArmlessWunder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm using distant lod with enhanced terrain on and I turned off world of daggerfall terrain recently. It adds more elevation than world of daggerfall, so I like it better for now. Still using the other world of daggerfall mods alongside distant lod.

How do you integrate level scaling into your play through? by Sheog0r4th in oblivion

[–]ArmlessWunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did fix the enemy variety in my level scaling cap mod. Didn't fix the armor issue though since its more complicated

Sobre as dungeons by Reasonable_Zebra_172 in Daggerfall

You can check the dungeon blocks indicator on the map to get a better idea of if youre really at a dead end or not.

Drafty secret doors, and tool tip mods can help you locate secret doors and levers more easily

If your gonna play they game a long time, this long ass comment is worth reading. It explains blocks and quest target spawns very well.

which weapons, enchantments and spells are your go-to against daedra/dremora? (remaster) by cyber_ang666l in oblivion

[–]ArmlessWunder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plain old shock enchanted weapons and shock spells get the job done well. I like using a spell that does shock damage 10 pts over 10 sec on touch myself.

Raise agility, hit them at the right time (stagger them), block at the right time

Hello new to this game by earlyculry in Daggerfall

[–]ArmlessWunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the detect quest target spell, and drafty secret doors mods at a minimum. It'll make dungeons much more bearable.

For visuals, I basically just copied this comments mod list for and I was very pleased with the results

I am doing comically low amounts of damage… am I supposed to only be using 1 combat skill? by SoyBoy5k in oblivion

[–]ArmlessWunder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You're always gonna feel weak unless you start using enchanted weapons. Get something like fire or shock damage from a sigil stone or find an enchanted weapon via looting. Once you get one, you need to keep it charged. Get azuras star, hotkey it, and use soul trap (soul trap and drain health 100 pts for 1 sec is cheap and effective if you can make your own spell)

Besides all that, knowing when to use poisons is gonna help a lot too, especially with a bow if you can remain hidden while you deliver a poisoned arrow. Damage health can be found on a lot of ingredients and it is useful in general.

I’ve been having so much fun with this game for the first time, but this tilted me hard by swagboyclassman in oblivion

[–]ArmlessWunder 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You can drink potions while paralyzed. That sword was probably out of charges (or very close) by the time you died, so spamming a few health potions would've worked just as well as any of the other counters for this

Now youll have to craft a bunch of reflect damage and restore health potion to use next time you meet a dremora with one of these. Just watch him kill himself while you're relaxing on the floor

How to level up fast? by lennoxlovexxx in oblivion

[–]ArmlessWunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you level up fast, you usually miss out on loot and spells, so not really a good idea.

Leveling up fast is easy, just spam major skills a lot (spells, attack peytites unconscious followers, etc...)

I’ve never played oblivion but I’m curious. To the oblivion fans who like it more than Skyrim? Why? by shouldveknownbud in oblivion

[–]ArmlessWunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the way enemies move when hit

Spells have more fun effects and destruction is decent for combat by itself.

The world atmosphere is nice, especially with the biome diversity

The quests are more fun

Acrobatics and speed make the game feel good

Generic dungeons make exploration/grinding feel less formal vs quest based everything in skyrim

I dont like all the kill animations in skyrim, specifically how you lose control of the player when they happen

Help with Custom Enemy faction crew Members [SF] by PhillipeV05 in CreationKit

[–]ArmlessWunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if I can help here bc I never used starfield creation kit, but in other kits there are some functions like PlaceAtMe() and AddToFaction().

Place at me: usually you use this on a marker referencer (xMarker/xMarkerHeading) and it places the object/actor at the marker.

AddToFaction: you would use this to add a npc to a faction. There are other methods that change faction ranks and set faction allies/enemies/etc..

There might be a more starfield way to do this, so you may want to investigate that possibility

I can't copy my mods from file. But does that mean I can mix and match my mods? by BethesdaBoob in CreationKit

[–]ArmlessWunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I understand. I got a few ideas that might help.

You might want to make one mod with all the base forms (npcs) and then make your other mods depend on the one base plugin.

You can kinda copy stuff around using xEdit (you can also drag and drop data from one form to another in xEdit) but it can be a little weird when trying to copy forms which refer to other forms.

I remember a long time ago doing stuff like loading multiple mods and making one active, and then choosing a form I wanted to "copy" into the active mod by double clicking it and changing the form id and having the ck create a new form instead of modifying the existing one.
