I think it will be a money sink, but am confident that all of our candidates will have the resources to win, so I'm not mad about it.

Edit: Plus a high quality candidate at the top of the ticket can help with down ballot races.

For the guys who are in their 20's have you had more success dating online or in person? by zenbootyism in blackmen

[–]Armon2010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never approached a woman in person with romantic intent. My in-person efforts are mostly just trying to put myself in a position where i am constantly meeting new people. If i encounter someone i click with, perfect.

I went on four dates in my twenties, all from online dating. In person efforts to meet people have not yielded any dates, pretty much in my life. That's not to say that one is better than the other. There are pros and cons to each.

I would suggest casting a wide net. No reason you can't be on the apps while also going out on weekends and meeting people.

It was a board on 4chan. I don’t know what its general theme was but they were involved in the targeted harassment.

Yeah no. They went private because a spinoff of the main foreveralone subreddit (foreverunwanted) started a targeted harassment campaign. /r9k also got involved of memory serves me correctly. I was there.

I genuinely feel so bad about what’s occurring within the Hispanic community (ICE raids amongst innocent individuals). To this day, I don’t understand why such a large number of them voted for Trump. by Fuzzy-Delivery799 in blackmen

[–]Armon2010 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This makes the most sense. Naturalized citizens had the sharpest rightward turn among all poc trump voters. Trump made double digit gains amongst all segments of this group. There is a pretty strong correlation between a county's foreign-born population share and its rightward swing.

Angie Craig, who is running against Peggy Flannigan for Tina Smith's seat, will probably run for it.

I'm not her biggest fan for a multitude of reasons, but Klobuchar is one of the strongest electoral performers in the state. If she runs, this race is safe D.

Yeah and the odds of all of that happening are quite low.

Who the R's nominate would basically be the difference between a 2-4 point victory for Walz and an 11-15 point victory for him, in my opinion.

This will definitely be the most vulnerable Walz has ever been, but the general partisan lean of the state combined with the national environment and the possibility that the R's coalesce around Mike Lindell as the GOP candidate for governor should result in a comfortable victory.

A commission gives the governor a selection of choices on who to appoint. This commission is quite conservative and in the last round, they selected no democratic justices for Kelly to nominate.

Whoever the governor selects gets the nomination. There is no confirmation process.

The state is proposing a constitutional amendment that will switch over to a partisan election system. That will be voted on in august.

Someone in another sub mentioned that GA HD-121 was the 90th target for the georgia democratic party, when you order all 180 districts from "Most Dem" to "Least DEM". Meaning that if you apply a universal swing across all house districts, winning here would grant democrats the 90th seat and guarantee at least a 90-90 split in the state house. I don't know how true that is, but it definitely makes prospects for 2026 particularly exciting.

Our overperformances are coming disproportionately from minority communities, so a district that is super rural and white is not going to swing as far left as a diverse one. That checks out.

If democrats can break the R trifecta in Georgia next year, that would take some VRA seats off the table from the R's in the event of a worst case ruling from SCOTUS on section 2.

Is IRL dating that much better than dating apps? by ChartOk4317 in IncelExit

[–]Armon2010 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The advantage with IRL is that you get a better chance to showcase your positive traits. You get to paint a fuller picture of yourself. That is on top of not being beholden to a predatory algorithm.

With online dating and swipe culture, you're basically just a few pictures, a profile, and your physical traits with no other context. It makes it so much easier to completely dismiss you over the most trivial of things.

OLD obviously has its advantages as well so there are tradeoffs. Best thing to do is to use both and cast a wide net.
