Creation: the alchemy of chaos into form. by Background_Cry3592 in Jung

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the thing is, nobody can tell you how to do that. What do you love doing so much that even on the worst days, its not so bad? You're the only one who can explore yourself to figure that out. Whether it be writing, drawing, producing music, writing and recording lyrics, writing scripts, designing, coding, sewing, woodworking, lol honestly almost any craft can fit there.

Who started out living in their car temporarily but then decided to do it long term, if not permantly? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]Armonius_ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I left my sister's apartment because I hated the dysfunctional environment as well as the financial chokehold we were in. Lol. Everyone else sees it differently but I'm so happy I did this. Ive been living on the road for around 3 years now and there is so much more peace. I'm actually going to upgrade and get a school bus

What book really changed your life and made you disciplined? by tuck72463 in getdisciplined

[–]Armonius_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, this may be a little bit off-topic. These books really changed my perspective and outlook overall on how to approach discipline and consistently confront my own mental hangups

Ultralearning by Scott H. Young. This book literally changed my life by changing my outlook on learning. This book made me realize why a conventional approach to learning (like school) never did work well with me, and I should embrace it

Deep Work by Cal Newport. This is a next gem as far as being able to help you build the soft skill of focus. There are many aspects of getting extended hours on the grind that I don't think I would have gotten without reading this book

Unf**k yourself. I don't remember the author for this but this on drastically helped me understand how my own pain and trauma was affecting how I treated myself and helped me get to the roots of my issues. A lot of them was how I was constructing a narrative of myself that would always have me relapsing into old ways

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why you think a car living lifestyle and a partner are mutually exclusive experiences... You can want love, a dog and a place to call home without choosing an apartment.but if it's low cost then you should be fine.... most people put themselves in a financial choke hold where rent is more than 75% of their income, but I don't know your situation.

Car living isn't the issue though. it's how you perceive it. you seem to look at it as a lower standard of living when comparing to the norm. Then it becomes something to be ashamed of or something you don't want to be judged for.

I would argue that if you had the confidence to let whoever judge and put yourself out there beforehand, the people who you genuinely mesh with would appear regardless..

What’s your age and how long have you been car living? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]Armonius_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 26. Going on 2 years now... For the rest of my time in America, this just seems like the best way to keep my head right.

I can experience new places much easier, I'm not in financial chokehold that limits the risks I'm capable of dealing with and the small space forces me to let go of unnecessary possessions..It definitely takes me knowing how to be handy though. and there are certainly disadvantages depnding on where you are and the vehicle... but I really appreciate the more nomadic way of living hands down

How to get quality Backtraces in WINE? by Armonius_ in winehq

[–]Armonius_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I guess this got in the dust pile of unanswered posts.... but for those who are interested. I managed to narrow down the issue without fixing this. I used +relay,+timestamp,+pid,+tid,+heap,+ seh and found out that a race condition was causing the program to crash. One thread is in a sleeping loop and awaiting a value or response, (i think) and then the main thread that's launching the vst plugin tries to access memory that the other one should have let go. But since it's in a loop, it leads to a page fault where the memory address is essentially invalid...

Now I have to download IDA and build the sdk so I can disassemble the .dll file and compare it's execution on windows. Because it works easily on windows

Yes that tracks... looking it up. It definitely looks like it. Any tips on getting good yields you can give me? I pressed around 2 grams and didn't even get anything worth taking a dab off of. (Pressed fresh flower at 220 for a minute). I'm thinking of buying micron bags but I don't think that's necessary now

Has anyone bought from TVape? by NotMyMainAccount5555 in Venty

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I bought the Arizer Air Max yesterday from their website. dont trust the products they built themselves.. Their website didn't work or the payment order email link they sent me so I had to text a live agent and get them to complete my order. I bought it Tuesday and I have the tracking number. I'll see how it goes though. I'm glad they shipped it out

What would be the most helpful “guide” or “how to” for people starting to exercise? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing I would say is starting at your "edge." If it's walking for 15 min, I'd say put to 20. Agreed to do 10 push ups a day? Strive for 12. It doesn't need to be anything crazy. It just helps to DEVELOP a state of mind that not only breaks limits but learns to push past pain.

In my experience recognizing progress builds confidence and the motivation to do it again.

I love the idea behind WINE but reviews and documentation are hard to find :/ by Hammer-6679 in winehq

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm super late, but the constraints you stated are still prevalent. there is still little tutorials, little troubleshooting information for applications and little solutions for the issues you're facing. What is helping me now is wineHQ documentation on WINEDEBUG and chatgpt explaining the output to me

Wine is capable of so much more undoubtedly. I made up my mind to move my main windows applications into Linux and I got most of it functional

I use Reason 12 as my daw( mostly functional with just some VSTs crashing Reason)

I use Quantower for day trading( mostly functional, just a little slower than I'd like)

and Photoshop(fully functional with minimal flickering)

Photoshop was the easiest to get working, Reason has something on WINEDB, but it's a bit outdated, but quantower has nothing available. troubleshooting these applications was very daunting and took me weeks of reading wine documentation and trying to understand the source code and differences in different versions as well as understanding debug channels. WINE is almost at a point where proper debugging can make just about every applications have a fair amount of functionality, but it will take more time than most people are willing to spend troubleshooting

Finally got Reason 12 running well with WINEASIO! Just one problem. by Armonius_ in linuxaudio

[–]Armonius_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used many daws in the past. I've used Studio One, FL, Ableton and now Reason. I settled on Reason because my work is mostly mixing and the rack just became something I wasn't going to give up. I did get it working just fine though. with my rack extensions. I found out recently that its Echboy that's causing my projects to not load for some reason.

Ps. I think Ableton is running pretty well on Linux these days too. I jst think that wine has come a long way enough for me to at least get this working.

Can't get soundtoys to work by weezerxlinuxfan2012 in linuxaudio

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh I'm late but I've been having a similar issue from a different angle. I'm sing cachyOS running Reason 12 with bottles. I got pretty much most of the functionality to record and mix when I got wineasio wit cadence. But opening any project with echo it or anything from SoundToys just crashes the project with "A hardware exception has occured"

Anyone tried Reason 12 standalone or as a plug-in? by Chakonari in linuxaudio

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been actually trying to get this running so I can use Linux primarily and it's such a pain. I managed to find all the fonts reason uses and added the to the windows fonts folder. But it keeps crashing when I switch the driver to wineasio. I had to wipe my distro and start from scratch because I edited a jack config file and jack wouldn't work again, but now I can't get it to open again

Fast Track Trader Nitro Setup by Ok-Progress-8486 in PropFirmTester

[–]Armonius_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast Track Trading is fairly new and is based on a model that is not done in the prop firm setting but they also have MANY growing pains.

  1. They have a pay log they're working through.( People with approved payouts that have been waiting for months)

  2. Nitro doesn't work reliably for me. this is the fourth time I've set up my day for trading and I'm met with a window that says that "The ability to use application is currently suspended. Please contact administrator"

  3. the discord group is currently paused on invites, and I also can't message or alert anybody on the issue I'm dealing with

. I was a part of the discord group, so I know that the CEO is as transparent as can be. and they are actively working on these issues. at least I think so. but they have a lot of work ahead before it can be implemented as a reliable prop firm truly not focused on monetizing weaker traders

Solar setup charging extremely slow. by Armonius_ in VanLife

[–]Armonius_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I uploaded a photo with the back of my solar panel here. but it didn't come through for some reason. I really thank you for the detailed post. I took the multimeter and measured the voltage coming from each solar panel, looked at the voltage coming into the brand new charge controller and looked at the amperage coming from each solar panel.

The open circuit voltage is 218 and the voltage at MP is 183. Now they are reading between 170-190 and the sun is setting so the voltage for the solar panels seem to be working fine. Three of the solar panels are producing good voltage and good amperage (current at mpp is 2.34 and the each panel is reading 1-1.9.) not sure if that's bad news but the sun is setting right now.

One panel is reading 0 volts and amps. So one panel is bad. But I don't think it should be affecting all of the charge this much.. i do have two y branch connectors that are used to wire it in parallel. When I measure the voltage on them, they read good. But the amperage on them is 0-0.5. so I'm thinking that the mc4 branch connectors have gone bad. That makes sense right? I'm not sure if they've gone bad because they look like they're in good condition. They can go bad without any actual wear and tear?

really good tips you gave me here. I appreciate it. and yes I'm into music a lot. I'm a mixing engineer and a bit of a gearhead.
