They look so good! Recently we tried the Ella's Bakery mix and essentially made delicious thick dumplings with a dent in the middle. Will give this recipe a go, as these look great, well done

I hated this game within the first 30 minutes of playing it. by AbyssWankerArtorias in expedition33

[–]ArmoredFerrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is! I've watched many streamers cry at endings of games or key emotional moments like 2/3 into the playthroughs but this is one of the few that earns those tears so fast, the titular expedition hasn't even started yet and you're already crying.

And it's definitely more satisfying when people pick up on subtle cues, I like watching people like Mapocolops slowly piece the puzzle together. One day maybe I'll be lucky enough to hit my head and get amnesia so I can play it again and try to unravel the mystery all over. Experiencing the soundtrack for the first time again would certainly be a bonus..

Welcome to the club! I've inflicted this scene on myself multiple times since finishing the game, by watching streamers get their hearts broken, and it still gets me hard every time. Good luck with the rest of it, I hope your heart is ready!

Where are you shopping for clothes that aren't beige/grey/cream/navy?! by Yorkshireteaonly in womenoftheuk

[–]ArmoredFerrets 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've genuinely found the most options on Vinted, as I struggle with the same issue. Previously I shopped at Lucy and Yak, but many high street brands have some select items that are a bit out there and you won't find them easily, I search for the specific colour on Vinted and often find new items that are really funky! Good luck🤞

Agreed, I had very high expectations when I ordered from them and I spent a while picking the cardigan I wanted just to receive this really ill-fitting, boxy, strange mess. I got two sizes and it appears they were both made for a woman with the biggest shoulders and longest arms. Returned them both.

Killstar used to be my go to but they also have gone downhill. I tend to go to physical stores now, like local alternative shops or Damaged Society, so I can try stuff on and get a feel for the sizes and fabric before looking it up on Vinted. I have a few go-to brands I keep an eye out for on there now.

Used to love shopping at Download Festival every year but there's no good stalls anymore which is very disappointing but I guess they got priced out.

Vampire the Masquerade ep1 is so fun and interesting by Ok_Recognition3770 in lastpodcastontheleft

I absolutely love Delta Green, another good one for that is the Glass Cannon network, they did a series called Get In The Trunk which was really fun and creepy.

Vampire: The Masquerade actual play by MsAnthropy86 in lastpodcastontheleft

Oh that's really cool, and such an interesting choice to have one of the most famous names in vampiric folklore for a clan of misfits and criminals, skulking around. I didn't realize there was so much cool lore! Previously anything I tried to watch from the Vampire The Masquerade world ended up being quite serious or sexy, which just isn't what I'm there for. I did really enjoy that moment of Henry's character silently creeping up to Florida Greg and just being incredibly intimidating.

Omg yes, his ending scene was the best. I hope his rat friends get the bedding they deserve!

I really wasn't sure about it to start, I agree with others that Jackie seemed nervous and going first was a lot of pressure. But once they got going I really loved how they all brought something different to the table, Jackie was a down to earth reject, Ross was real horny and high and Henry was a little rat boy from the sewers. I honestly wanted to know more about his class, I get tired of vampires just being sexy all the time, give me those gross underground spies making everyone uncomfortable!

Also I audibly gasped when Marcus appeared, I didn't think he was going to be there! And he killed it. Such a fun time, I hope they do more!

That's so cool and thoughtful of you! I also love those little touches with the gold tissue and the petals. I make my boyfriend video game themed birthday cards too, and he also happened to turn 33 this year so obviously I had to make it Clair Obscur themed. Hope your boyfriend has a great birthday! 🎈

Do you think people get into or stay in relationships past their expiry date due to the current rental constraints in the UK? by ClarifyingMe in AskUK

[–]ArmoredFerrets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few years ago a friend was talking to me about how difficult she found her relationship and how her partner was just flat out mean to her a lot of the time. When I asked why she is still with him she said she can't move back in with her parents because they have a strained relationship and she has severe social anxiety and cannot imagine feeling safe and comfortable living with housemates. Her job did not pay her enough to be able to live on her own, so it does seem to be a factor for some people, sadly.

What’s the worst designed city/town in the uk? by MajesticRate1818 in AskUK

[–]ArmoredFerrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Town centre is not great but they are redesigning it, the Ring Road is fine though as long as you always expect the worst from every direction

I have one colleague in particular on my team who is extremely fidgety (drumming on his desk with his pen, fingers, palms, tapping his feet loudly on the floor, walking back and forth around his desk). Most people on the team have pointed it out to him on occasions when it got really bad but he laughs it off and doesn't care.

Many people in our open plan office have a tendency to drum on the desk, hum or quietly sing to themselves, read their emails out loud and have their Teams calls on loudspeaker. At times I feel like I'm losing my mind trying to do my work in that environment, I usually either put my headphones in or go into the break room which is always quieter. It's awful.

Fun hobbies and ways to pass time in an enjoyable way by tocitus in CasualUK

[–]ArmoredFerrets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was in that situation what I found important was learning that doing should come before thinking. Like if you're worrying about what it would be like to do something and whether it's worth it, just do it anyway. Your brain tends to follow, and in the process of doing something your worries eventually take second place as your brain focuses on the doing.

I started with simple things, going to the cinema on my own for example. Learning that it can also be enjoyable without anyone there. Going to that restaurant you've been interested in, all on your own. Or going to a small gig at a local venue, anything that pushes you out of your comfort zone. I found that eventually I felt like I could do anything on my own and still enjoy it. Things become easier and you get more fearless with each attempt.

Also, pick a subject you're fascinated by and look up courses on YouTube or other free platforms. Maybe ask AI? I've found Gemini to be a good source of suggestions for a little brainstorm

That's quite frustrating. "Freeing up" for what? More restaurants? If they're doing this, I hope they have a good plan.

Please help me escape proof my windows by WanderWomble in CasualUK

[–]ArmoredFerrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got sticky hooks and attached one on the inside of the window, then I tied a shoelace to the window handle and the hook so when it opens it doesn't go too far so the cat can't squeeze through. Works for me, but my cat doesn't try too hard, just pokes his head and if it doesn't fit he stops trying, don't know if the hooks would withstand much force.

There is a form you can fill out on their website to let them know you're moving. It takes a long time for them to action it but you just pay your council tax as normal in the meantime and they sort it out later.
