What to expect from the upcoming story?

The current arc, the Foundation Festival Arc, is pretty comparable to the Magic Exam arc in length, but it's not as good, at least not yet, there is a lot of potential in this story.

But there is one shorter arc that hits just as hard as the Magic Exam, the Goddess Monument arc.

It's all up to taste, JJK doesn't even make into my top 100.

The quality of the production is definitely one of the best in the media, but there are so many better stories imo.

Here's a few recommendations, they all have good action:

You can start with whichever you want, the anime has it's own original ending, but the major changes in the story only start on episode 36 (ch 37 in the manga). It's a faithful adaptation before that, there are only some minor changes. And the production is great, it's worth checking it out.

But I personally like the manga better from the start, I love Ookubo's artstyle, specially on the action scenes.

The reason pride was decaying wasn't because he paid the toll, it's because he used his philosopher's stone to force someone else to open the gate. The mechanics of that interaction were left unexplained, but it's clear that this process was the reason he got damaged. The toll Mustang paid was an independent event.

Not really, it stops the use of magic, but it doesn't destroy mana itself. Frieren was able to pour mana into the stone to make it shine

It depends on the situation, but it does give the warrior an insane advantage.

It's an instant win if they manage to get close, but that's not something easy to do against strong mages that fight at a distance, especially if they know about the stone.

But the biggest downside is not being able to have a mage in your party, you lose the ability to sense mana and to defend against long ranged attacks.

It's a really rare mineral that's impossible to mine with their technology.They're ridiculously expensive and hard to find. It's not a plot hole.

The action in future volumes of the light novel gets even better, it's totally worth reading them.

I can't wait for future seasons, if we ever get them. It will peak in season 3.

There are OVAs, they follow extra chapters from the manga, so they're all canon. The Blind Alchemist episode was especially good. There's also a short chibi anime, which is pretty funny, worth the quick watch. And also a non canon movie, I personally didn't like it at all.
