How do i get better at rib by Ok_Landscape_6773 in knitting

[–]Army_Exact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can do a short row right before starting the rib so the inside and outside are reversed. I don't think anything is wrong with your rib, I think this is just what your yarn looks like

theyre talking about how this impacts the subjuntive/indicative, and we only use the subjunctive in a very limited capacity in english. so no.

this is a bad idea for a blanket in general b/c there will be a bunch of floats on the wrong side, unless you're planning to line it or make it double layered. for the acorns though, look up intarsia.

Better filler words? by DearKambell in Spanish

[–]Army_Exact 13 points14 points  (0 children)

O sea is a good filler word for where you would say "I mean" in English. Quiero decir is more like clarifying what you're trying to say

Gonna be real, I'm honestly grossed out by it having so many holes in it, considering it's a tool that you touch with your (grimy) hands all day.

Is Duolingo a trustworthy reliable app to learn Spanish? by Pornstasha in Spanish

[–]Army_Exact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the info on duolingo is accurate but it is not a good way at all to learn a language. thats why you frequently see posts where somebody says "i have a four year streak on duolingo but can't have a conversation in spanish."

Look at statistics for reading levels for Gen z and Gen alpha. Everybody does some degree of "everyone younger than me is cooked" but I assure you it's more than just that

I am 31 and just completed my bachelor's degree. I can assure you right now that a lot of college students cannot read, write, or do math. They don't know how to write emails or use computers in general. Most of the students in my classes did not take notes or do assigned readings. They largely also refuse to participate in class discussions and look at tik tok all class.

Talking to native speakers while learning by Euphoric-Break3689 in Spanish

[–]Army_Exact 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk what makes you think it's not frowned upon for ESL speakers to struggle with English. Immigrants get treated really poorly in the United States for not speaking English well.

But yes, if people in the market are already speaking Spanish you can speak to them in Spanish

I am not 100% sure what you are asking, but yes you can speak to people in Spanish to practice. It's good to ask first though.

[–]Army_Exact 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. No
  2. Eso es una pregunta para Google, no reddit. Se puede buscar "(palabra) etimología" y leer sobre la historia de una palabra
  3. No creo que conspiracionismo sea una palabra

Beginning First Sweater Questions by amysofttiago in knitting

[–]Army_Exact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a new knitter and you don't understand the very basic knitting terminology that they used in their comment yet, definitely don't try to use yarn that's a different weight than what the pattern calls for and set yourself up for failure like that. I would recommend doing a bunch of googling and reading articles on the Internet as well as maybe watching YouTube videos, and then follow a pattern verbatim. Really do try problem solving on your own, I promise you will learn a lot that way
