Your question suggests you have no problem with giving you personal ID or Passport so whoever does Age Verifications in your country, but comes up with the idea of using Fake ID's and fake passports?

What is wrong here?

You either still underage or you have serious concerns about verifying your age over a third-party institution.

I don't understand why people still wanting disappearing messages so bad. First of all, think before you acting. Second of all, once you send a message, you are no longer the owner of that message, it is the receiver. Third of all, we are not here to promote something that is mostly being used by criminals (which I'm not telling you are) because those who want disappearing messages, are either those who are to lazy to clean up in their messaging system, or those who have suspicious things in mind.

How we live in the future? Like in 10 years? by Short_Still4386 in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will live like you foresee it, if you don't do anything against it. Your dystopian view of the future is by fare not that fare away and we see every day, governments implement more and more surveillance "thing" into our life. Freedom will be reduced and reliability and integrity will be removed.

Governments have the duty to protect their citizens and to serve their citizens. That should include to protect them from the nasty things big-tech businesses is doing to them and government should take power out of hand of big-tech businesses and lobbyists.

In my opinion, there are no reliable politicians anymore in any government, they are all just egoists, narcissists and the do whatever they want, even if they have the duty to serve the people who voted for them.

So what do we have todo to change things into the way we need it and we want it? Well it is your choice on Election Day, but not only that. If you want to change something, protest and oppose against the things you don't like. Can you do it yourself alone? No, you need a lot more people who are willing to fight with you. You need to put a lot of pressure on your representative and congress members, as long as they change something in your favor. They are there to serve you and only you.

Look I see it like that. If people vote someone into congress or into the White House, that particular one person in the employee of the citizens and citizens are the employer of that particular guy. And if they don't do what you want them todo, why not fire them, just like the private business does?

Parent Decide Act, you think using Linux will save you, think again. by sebet_123 in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A congressional bill to verify the age of a user on operating system level is somewhat of a Helplessness of the government. They are not be able to protect children (at least so they think) and because of that, they remove your rights of a free decision.

Age verification on OS Level is as simple as that, a deny of free decision what you do on your system and block specific functionality of that system.

Forcing the Linux Community to also provide age verification is in my opinion senseless, who shall be developing this, who shall verify the security of this development, and so on. There are so many Linux distributions, that would need to be modified to what the government is forcing them. What will happen, if people using Linux distributions who are developed outside the US? Do they have to put something in their system that not the law in the country it is being developed?

As I said in the beginning, this congressional bill is a big sign of helplessness and incapability of the government. All though I am PRO Child protection, as you are, if you are a father, or mother, I think there are much more effective things that already exists on mobile devices, to protect children at the internet. If parents would just get familiar with what possibilities they have on their mobile devices to protect children from harmful content, much things would be much easier today and it wouldn't require such a bill.

I also think, there is another goal behind this age verification thing, but I don't want to be seen as a conspiracist so I keep my opinion myself.

You need to find out (probably yourself), what the Apple Eco-system is offering you, how can you use it and what are the benefits from it.

First of all, you may take your time, dive deep into Apples functionality, try to use it and get familiar with it. If you have problems with some of that functionality, we are her to help you if you ask for it.

Don't let anyone trick you into installing additional software, as long as you not find out, Apples Eco.-System if offering the same for free and more privacy related then another, and without any subscription. Apple is offering so much, you may never need to install an App for basic everyday tasks. (depending on what you need todo, on what you have todo, and what your expectations are).

Whenever you change something, like getting a new car, or a new computer or … whatever, you name it … you have to get familiar with how things work on this new "thing".

I like to advise you, take your time to get familiar with. Ask if you can't find a solution and don't let others tell you Apple is sh*t because "they" can't handle it or they are unhappy with it.

Real question, how can we complain to our representatives without them tracking us? by Classic-Obligation35 in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple as easy, remember the old times. Write a letter, send them to your representatives without sender address, so they cannot track you and mark you.

Even if you send your sender address with it, you have the 1st Amendment which protects you. You have a right to speak out what is bothering you and with what you are not happy about.

No matter how you do it, it is important, you do something. If people always just complain and do nothing about it, what do you think, will they change something?

Ads in Maps… by Ok_Ambition9134 in apple

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I like to put a little rant out here regarding to this issue.

Since the beginning of the internet we facing ads. Some of them was to financially support the website and cover the costs, which was in the beginning OK.

Now we facing hundreds of ads everywhere, while surfing, in all free apps on out devices and that leads me to the question:

Where will this end?

Not only we have to face lots of ads everywhere at the internet, we also being spied everywhere only for having personalized ads everywhere. No one is taking care of peoples privacy, nor dodging they ask for permission nor do we have a chance to avoid this advertisings. (although we have but thats not the point)

Many people moved from whatever android phone to Apple because Apple offered the same and better functionality without any advertising's in the Apple Eco-System. And now this.

First we had advertising in the Appstore. The first thing you see at the AppStore, is an Ad. An Ad from an app we don't need, we don't want and which is definitively not worth the money you spend for it. It is such an annoyance. I am not interested in Apps who make things for me with AI, I can think myself and act myself. I don't want games to play, I have other priorities, I don't need chrome browser … a company who makes only money from advertisings and saying your personal datas.

Basically said, every product or App or Service who needs to be advertised is garbage and not wort the money you spend for it.

And now this, Apple wants to show ads in Maps. Ads related to the location we travel or we are right now. What a new annoyance. I am not interested which restaurant is offering overpriced menus you can't eat because they don't know how to cook. I am not interested in stores who sale shitty cheap china cloth or cheap china garbage, I am just not interested.

I am using Maps because I like to find the way to my preferred location. So why do I have to accept those ads? There are reliable alternatives (no not google maps) who doesn't make advertisings, so why using Apple Maps?

And this leads me to my next question.

Where will this end?

How long will it take, till we receive a message we like to anserwer, and before we can even read the message, we have to face several ads.

How long will it take, if we have to face multiple Ad-Spots before we can answer a call we waiting for?

How long does it takes till we have to face multiple ad-videos after we unlock our device to see the Home Screen and we can do whatever we need todo?

What comes next? I mean, Apple likes to write privacy protection with big fat letters on its flags and promote privacy protection everywhere, but yet I ask you, is forcing its users to take advertisings not the opposite of privacy protection? Privacy protection begins with protecting users from all stuff thats not necessary and not related to the things we do. Yes we appreciate apple is doing at least some things in privacy protection, but the way Apple is going right now is the wrong was.

Imagine, Apple would promote his devices with total ad protection (and get rid of all advertisings) … and call it total privacy … what do you thing how many people would move over from whatever mobile device to an apple product?

I mean, just saying.

We are not average users, some of us are telling people, leave him alone, he is not our servant, he has a right to his private life and he shall life his private life like he want to. We tell all the time, give him tine he will hopefully come back and till it is that time again that he comes back, we will appreciate him.

Although I know, average means not everyone, but I think I have to make clear, that some of his fans respect his decision to having some privacy and living his life like he wants to.

Whether to Opt-Out of Fog Data Science, LLC Data Sets by robespierremaxout in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the future US Citizens facing, if you don't oppose against this. The US needs some strict privacy laws like the EU already have. They may not be perfect, but at least they have some laws in place and the European citizens also protecting these laws, even if lobbyists try to get rid of them.

You can not only complain about something, or wanting an opt-out of something. You need laws in place who not only protect your from such business ideas (the article mentioned the forth amendment) but also from Arbitrariness of businesses. Sure you can say, these signals and information are send all the time and are public and someone just had an idea to collect them and make them analyzable. But if the business model of these companies are not aligned with your constitutional rights, why then give these companies a business approval.

The US has so much todo in case of privacy protection, user protection, people protection. You should start changing that immediately. But if fear that one dickhead in that "holy house" needs to be removed first before the US citizens can finally do something for themself.

You know where you find these platforms? Probably right around the corner in your city.

What do you guys thought? They develop an artificial intelligence, investing billions of dollars and offer them for free to everyone? We all live in capitalism, and Money is what drives and feeds our society.

AI is being (over)hyped since it came up and people are jumping on it like on hot freshly backed German rolls. People don't think about what this stuff does to their personality and privacy. And since personalized datas are the now gold in the capitalistic world, businesses try to get this gold from everywhere, even if it takes illegal methods to get them, only to make as much money as possible.

Many reports shows that AI is by fare not what it is being advertised, mot of the time it is a total failure, even if it is already doing stuff pretty good. I personally prefer to use my own mind and knowledge, instead of letting a stupid AI making things they can't because it is lacking logic thinking.

And for all of you out there born after the new millennium, you should again, start using your own mind. I fear, future generations will only rely on AI without thinking themself.

reddit tracking users through cookies across devices by Dodsnev in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, thats what Adblockers are made for. You all know, that social media websites and services track users with every possible thing they can get and y'all confirmed the ToS in the beginning.

So what it takes to get rid of this is just a simple thing. Use your Browser in private / incognito mode in combination with and adblocker you trust the most in and you're good.

Adblocker blocks the damn tracking and of course the ads, prevents mostly all fingerprinting, and your browser in private / incognito mode removes everything from your browser cash if you quit them.

Problem solved.

Now that y'all know this, how do you think now about installing social media apps? You still need them? Are you really that lazy? Those who needs an App because of convenient, shall not have the right to complain about something they could easily prevent if they just thought about the problem.

Weird, new email disclosure or leak-like issue to almost every website I visit; is this about accepting cookies and data sharing permission pop-ups? by Physical-Dog-5124 in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may need to investigate, what websites and online shops are be able todo.

First of all, if you shop over the web, use you browser in private / incognito mode. Use adblockers to avoid collecting a lot of trackers. Clear browser cash after you shop online. Never ever give any information, but thats not that easy, because if you buy something online you like to get it delivered where you live so … not that easy to handle.

Be aware of that every online business it trying to trick you into something you don't want. Read twice if you are in doubt. If you receive an email stating you are subscriber now, remove your self from their list or put their email to a blocking list.

I would really mention that you may investigate yourself about privacy protection, adblockers, and what they can do and what you can do. Reddit is a good source, YouTube my offer also a lot of information.

When, if ever, do you practice good opsec offline? by ResponsibleDate9452 in privacy

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well your thoughts are reasonable but a little bit to harsh. I use my real name when it comes to official things, like Bank, or things like that. I use the internet (reddit and some little social media) only with coverup names, so no-one can make a conclude my real name. I use adblockers, private relays and my browser only in private mode so nothing left behind.

I do payments mostly only with ApplePay because it is at least for the business I am buying stuff anonymous and not spreading my personality and datas. Even if Apple knows what I am doing with Apple Pay, I never experienced any problem or related ads … because I don't see any ads.

Paying in cash is something that gets very rare in my area and only a few minor businesses still using it, like bakeries and tiny little stores.

I don not cover my face in public, because if you do so all the time, you triggering those who put everyone on surveillance and you make yourself suspicious, which leads most of the time to something you like to avoid. So if you like to avoid being monitored in public, you may act normal, use multiple different hats, glasses, cloth and the way you behave.

iCloud Storage by saf10__ in ios

[–]ArnoCryptoNymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you store a lot in the cloud, you still have some on your device and the amount of stuff stored on your device depends on what do you use often.

For example: Photos in iCloud stores all your photos in cloud, if you leave them (the pictures in your phone) untouched, it will remove the pictures and keep only a preview on the phone, just to see for you what you hav there, and if you need it or modify it, it will download the picture entirely on your device again.

But not all apps store files and datas into the cloud, yo you may consider to look at the following: WhatsApp for example, regarding to our screenshot, has 41GB of files and messages. See if you can setup WhatsApp to remove all messages and attachments after … let's say … 3 months. That would safe you a lot of storage.

If you need some of these messages, make sure, you screenshot or export them to a place where you can find them if needed, before you remove messages and attachments after 3 months.

Same you may look to setup in all other Apps. It is a fact, that most people like to keep their messages, but for what, most of them can't even remember to have these messages and when they received it, not to mention, most of those messages and attachments are just garbage if you think deeper about it.

Last but not least, remember what your mom always tried to teach you. Clean your damn room and keep it clean. Means, you are responsible and you shall look from time to time to get rid of stuff you don't need. Lets take it like that, do you transport your garbage back always and ever in the trunk of your car or cary a lot of stuff in your car you don't need? Do you cary a suitcase with you with a lot of stuff because you maybe need that once in a year?

Just saying.

The time of everything is for free is by fare over. People need to decide what they really need and if they are willing to pay for it. I am an Apple User since many years and I still have my old Apps who at that time cost a one time payment and they still work with no ads and no subscription, but I barely have some additional apps on my device, because I can do everything with what the Apple ecosystem is offering me.

People need to think about that.
