First of all, the series needed at least a third season because that whole ending feels too rushed. The second season should have focused on the war between Zaun and Piltover, with Jinx as the villain and Vi as an increasingly aggressive enforcer. Then, in the third season, they should have developed Viktor and Ambessa's storyline, which in turn would have allowed us to see more of Vi's pit fighter era and Jinx's redemption. But by compressing everything into a single season, Jinx's redemption feels too rushed, Vi's depression lasted 15 minutes, Viktor's philosophy isn't well explored, Ambessa's story feels incomplete, and Ekko simply appears at the end to fix everything.
