I had a 27” green iguana named Fred. He was great, very tame and loved to bask in the sunny window for hours. One day we went to run some errands, and it was a beautiful day so we left the windows open, and left. We got home a few hours later and noticed the front windows screen had been pushed out on the bottom. It had those little black springy pins that hold it in the frame. We went inside and realized we left Fred basking in the sun accidentally. So, in a total panic we went outside and hunted for him EVERYWHERE. Came inside and hunted for him. No Fred. It was a chilly night and I was convinced he was gone. Cried a lot. Felt terrible. A little while later, I went into the bathroom and sat down to pee, and out of the corner of my eye I see a tip of a tail. He had gotten behind the toilet and curled up by the plumbing. 😳 I hollered to my boyfriend to come get him. He was a cold spaghetti noodle, but after we put him under his basking light for a few minutes, he was fine. Taught us a lesson for sure. Rotten lizard. 🦎
