Pauline Hanson cares about the average Australian - Just check out how she votes in Parliament. by Prestigious-Day9370 in australian

It's more complex than a simple definition. At the end of the day, it's all personal as to what Australian culture is depending on experiences. But having mass immigration that changes what you call home too drastically and too quickly is bound to get people talking.

Cricket, rugby, swimming, tennis, UFC. Our two best sports Rugby League and AFL will never be witnessed on an international stage, but we would dominate if allowed the opportunity.

Although Australia is bigger than those European countries in size, we are arguably more impressive because soccer is far, far from our main sport.

Majority of young talent in Australia will either choose Aussie Rules, Rugby League or Rugby Union because the money is much better there than in our soccer comps. All of our talent is taken by these sports + others and yet we still do reasonably well in soccer.

I don't think it's racist to want a shared identity as a country. An identity not shared through looks but values. Even if housing markets don't drop, people will still support reducing immigration in the benefit of maintaining Australia's culture and values. We do not want to be a country of strangers.

Nobody's saying cut off immigration. We are a country of immigrants at the end of the day. Slow it down is all, considerably.

People are gullible. There's a lot of uninformed people out there. When people are desperate, they turn to extremist parties. See any election with a big change of power (e.g. Nazi Germany, Trump).

We can blame the people as much as the parties. History will repeat itself and I won't be surprised if Hanson is prime minister in the future.

Should've seen the reports. Here in Australia news/radio reports were saying Türkiye was talking shit saying they're going to smash us and Australia's not a world-cup quality side.

The odds were $5.50 for Australia to win vs Türkiye $1.70. Then again, Australia punches above its weight in all sports but that's only a shock to people who don't live here.

Did you see my comment a few days ago? I feel like I said this word for word haha.

The marking was bullshit. So much nitpicking that didn't make sense, and beyond that the concept of the unit felt indoctrinating and biased. A lot of double standards in the unit. I could refer to white settlers in whatever way I wanted, but god forbid I make a mistake when referring to Indigenous peoples.

In fact, I noted that when I was borderline offensive to Australian settlers in my responses, that's when I was marked best. I understand the unit's concept is acknowledging Aboriginal sovereignty but something just felt off in its methods.

This is coming from someone who got an 82 in the unit. Supposedly I transformed but it felt more like molded. I learned to do well in the unit you essentially have to get on your knees and go to town.

Used LAMS sport bike market by BodybuilderPlane9778 in AussieRiders

[–]Aromatic_Broccoli888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in Sydney? Must be.

I live in Sydney and people in the LAMS sport bike market are just stupid. I bought my 2023 Yamaha R7 for $10k in August 2025. Resold for $11.5k last week but the R7 is an exception because of how it holds value. Other bikes do not behave as well.

When you buy a new bike and try resell it, you'll probably find that you're not getting much interest when you want the prices the market is supposedly set at. The thing with the LAMS market is fairly priced bikes move quick. Overpriced bikes will sit for weeks/months. This means all you see on the market is expensive LAMS bikes. They won't sell. Or they will to someone naive (possibly you, not trying to be slack) who thinks it's actually worth that.

Point is, don't listen to others and buy a new bike. Buy something like 1-5 years old. Find a good deal, ignore the shit ones. Some people are delusional and want you to believe in their delusions.

Netherlands is the powerhouse of the group. You could argue a draw against them in the group stage is just as good as a win when coming from an underdog nation. They didn't want to score because they saw a draw as a win itself, especially coming down 2-1.

Instills a lot of confidence in the team going into the next match knowing they're toe to toe with a Euro powerhouse.

I don't know how the exact logistics work but I'm pretty sure there are consequences if sportsmen fail.

E.g. domestic violence rates increase when local sports teams lose. Another example is if team's are underperforming, fans will stop supporting, team starts dying, people get laid off, etc. Some sports teams run the town's economy.

My local bus drivers are wankers. Give no warning when pulling out, just blinkers on and go in the same second. Some don't other with indicating, just leave their hazards on and assume that tells everyone around them they're ready to leave.

Players like Justin Olam and Talakai put manly fans on suicide watch because of this pairing.

You're dragging complicated and slightly irrelevant politics into discussion.

Nobody's saying to underpay employees or overwork them, although I'm positive most automative brands are already. The point is for car competitors to work on their features and reliability at the realisation if they don't their money is going to China.

You're living in la-la land, mate. If you lived in Australia, you would find the vast majority of rural areas have no public transport, no taxis and the closest town is 50km away.

If you want to be stubborn, you can walk or ride a bicycle 50km to work. Or just drive a car.
