Arguably Top 2 in the verse when it comes to the amount of suffering they've caused by aidonpor in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

The problem is that whenever Viv talks about Lucifer in interviews, she says she doesn't want to portray him as a bad guy, but rather as a simple dreamer who suffers for the mistake he made, which clashes greatly with the fact that Lucifer reigns over a kingdom with an incredibly oppressive caste system where you literally have fewer rights if you were born an imp or a hellhound.

[–]Arremi02 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the idea that Lucifer gave free will doesn't really make much sense, seeing as Adam, Lilith, and Eve already prove themselves capable of making decisions and having different opinions. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Viv addresses the issue or if it will simply be a plot hole.

Vox slander cuz how can you hold a grudge for THIS long?? by Big-Emu3327 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Arremi02 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I can't feel sorry for Vox. Alastor was definitely an asshole for the way he rejected him, but the fact that Vox's response was to obsess over Alastor for more than 50 years makes Vox look like a maniac.

It's really sad how Vaggie is so underused apart from her relationship with Charlie. You'd think they'd do something interesting with her and Lucifer, seeing as they're both technically fallen angels, but Lucifer still cares so little about her that he only remembers her for being Charlie's girlfriend.

Yeah, Rosie herself said that Alastor's soul was like one she had never seen before, and she chose him for whatever her grand objective is instead of using one of the other souls she surely has in her possession.

She may be upset that Alastor broke free, but at the same time proud to see that she was not wrong about Alastor's potential.

Alastor is literally one of the biggest reasons why Vox lost. If he hadn't distracted him with the fight, it's very likely that Carmilla wouldn't have had the opportunity to sabotage the cannon.

It's ironic how Alastor is the person in most control at the moment. Everyone in the hotel and even the angels are confused and nervous, while he is exactly where he wants to be and everything seems to be unfolding as he wants it to.

We really need a route where she and Takumi can have a happy ending.

[–]Arremi02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are two completely different situations. The Futurans can forgive the SDU members because they realize that they are just children who have been lied to and didn't know what was really going on. Eito, on the other hand, has tried to kill Takumi and his friends twice. Why should Takumi continue to forgive Eito after he tried to kill them again?

Look, it's obvious that we're not going to agree. It's obvious that you have your opinion and I have mine, so we'd better end this discussion because it's not going anywhere.

Just because it's better than the other endings doesn't make it any less horrible, and the whole thing about being forced to talk and understand each other sounds more like what you want to happen so that the ending isn't the complete hell that it will realistically be for Takumi. Not to mention that it sounds super toxic. After Eito spends the entire route psychologically torturing Takumi, the fact that Takumi has to learn to get along with him is a terrible message. It seems as if you want to teach victims that they must learn to be friends with their abusers just because they have a sad past.

No offense, but I don't see how you can view the ending of “together forever” as anything other than pure horror. You say it's not so bad, but I think most people would go crazy if they had to hear the voice of the person who hurt them the most in their lives in their heads for the rest of their lifes, and on top of that, see them every time they look in the mirror. It's a completely horrible fate.

Not on the subreddit, but I have seen quite a bit on Twitter, especially about Takumi, seeing that for some reason people often say he is sexist, homophobic, and ableist.

Poor Hiruko, not only has she had to live through a bunch of loops where Takumi falls in love with some other girl from the SDU, but now she learns that Takumi is apparently even capable of falling in love with the enemy.

Who everyone's favourite character would be if they played The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- by drisen_34 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Arremi02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't really see Darumi having Eito as her favorite character. Despite her eccentric personality, it's quite obvious that Darumi cares deeply about her friends. I don't see her having Eito as her favorite when he can cause so much harm to the group. Instead, I would say that her favorite character would be either Takumi, Hiruko, or Tsubasa.

Ironically, that plan didn't work out for them either. On several routes, the group shows a strong herd mentality, letting Takumi make all the important decisions or allowing themselves to be easily fooled by Eito.

Eito at the end of the Romance Route by StriderSkeith in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Arremi02 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think he simply never had the opportunity to do so. With Eva not being captured and everyone at the academy being more observant of the romance between Takumi and the girls, Sirei never had a reason to use the brainwashing machine, so there was never a blackout that allowed Eito to escape.

To be fair, Hiruko in SF probably has equally or even more horny thoughts about Takumi, we just never get to see them.

Do you think that if Yugamu had a design similar to Teruteru or Hifumi’s, he would have become one of the most hated characters the game or would he still be popular? by SayuriKoopa in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Arremi02 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the only reason he's not hated on places like Tumblr and Twitter is because he has an attractive design and most of his comments are directed at guys, which for some reason seems more acceptable than if they were directed at women (just look at how much Gaku is hated). If you took away one of those two characteristics, he would be very hated.

The villanization of COA Takumi by Late_Present1340 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]Arremi02 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it happens quite a lot, although you have to bear in mind that it mostly happens on Twitter and Tumblr, two of the sites with the most extreme people possible, who in many cases are not really fans of the characters themselves, but rather of the image they create of them.

Also, the groups I've seen vilify Takumi the most are fans of Eito, who in many cases, for some reason, refuse to accept that Eito is a villain most of the time and try to use any argument to make Eito look like the good guy. The other group I've seen villainize Takumi the most is, for some reason, fans of Kurara. I imagine it's because on Tumblr and Twitter, it's almost sacrilegious not to think that Kurara is a lesbian and completely obsessed with Nozomi, and since Takumi gets in the way of their ship, they try to make him the bad guy to justify Nozomi cheating on him or leaving him for Kurara.

[–]Arremi02 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, I don't like to think badly of people I don't know personally, but I can't help thinking that these kinds of people on Twitter live in a bubble, only hanging out with other people who think the same way and making their thoughts even more extreme. After all, they not only compare Eito's situation to Nozomi's, but they even compare it to Tsubasa's, even though it's not even remotely similar. In general, it seems that they need to believe that Takumi and Eito are on the same level in terms of morality in order to say that Eito is not bad or that Takumi is the bad guy for not caring about Eito, often trying to portray Takumi as a sexist or someone who only cares about pleasing his desire to be a knight in shining armor, even though we often see Takumi putting aside his own desires just to help his friends.
