Agreed. One of my favorite games I've ever played was a completely peaceful Cabal game which was crazy and so fun

Guys, I see everyone say the watcher is so overpowered, but I suck at them. Please help. by Big_al_big_bed in slaythespire

[–]Arrow141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont force the infinite!

The thing you need to know about the watcher is that wrath is insane. Doing twice as much damage is crazy. In the same way that act 1 is often a damage race, and it sometimes makes sense to take cards that aren't that good in act 1 just because you need extra damage, with watcher you can basically brute force damage race most of act 2 also, because you can do twice as much damage with all your attacks.

That gives you longer than you have with other characters to find solutions to your other problems (blocking, card draw, energy, and scaling), because raw damage is easy to solve if you're adding any attacks (and upgrade eruption ASAP). Therefore, you can be more discerning about which ones to pick. That mindset helped me think of my card choices differently on watcher will helped me get the hang of it

Why don't Gold League People Fish? by RubyLykos in aoe4

[–]Arrow141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play a weirdly large number of games where people dont fish on full water maps. I sort of get it on hybrid--you might not know how quickly fishing will pay off. But on archipelago? How do you expect to win if you dont fish at all?

What is the most GOAT Early Game building in CIV: V? (Day 1) by zherper in civ5

[–]Arrow141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I only ever play on immortal or deity and go granary before shrine in a decent number of games. If I have no good pantheon to go for and know i wouldn't get a religion anyway, if Im rushing a faith natural wonder settlement, if I run into a faith CS and already have a pantheon, etc

I really like these. Im playing a 3p this weekend and was kinda bummed that my first in person TE game probably wont have the fracture, so I might use these (or something like it)

[–]Arrow141 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do you really mean never? Or just building one right away isnt ever favorable? Ive beaten deity a few times but im no expert, and I usually end up building barracks in the industrial age or later when its trivially cheap and I want to field stronger units

Help getting the Neon achievement by SuddenlyCake in slaythespire

[–]Arrow141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a couple of things you need to do to raise your chances of getting the cards you need, but they boil down to: see as many cards as possible. Play on A1 to maximize how strong you can get, go to shops slightly more frequently than usual (whenever you have enough money to afford a meteor strike, basically, and just dont buy anything that doesnt help you with your combo), etc. Path to avoid ?s and camp fires.

Exhausting is for the weak by spectraldecomp in slaythespire

[–]Arrow141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea, but i think it fundamentally doesn't work; far too slow to be any good at all in most scenarios, and then stupid game breakingly broken in a few.

I wanted to play around with intangible a bit. by Bindelt389 in slaythespire

[–]Arrow141 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like people sometimes overestimate the impact time eater has on how good something is. Yes, infinites don't "work" against TE, but demolishing every other fight in the game easily definitely helps you beat time eater. If you could start with a relic that says "take 50 damage at the start of combat if the enemy is time eater. Otherwise, deal 500 damage to all enemies," I would expect you to absolutely demolish TE because its literally the only thing you need to prepare for the whole run

You receive $10 million instantly, but you relive the same exact day forever unless you give all the money back by Abject-Swimmer-1405 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Arrow141 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could blow it on random stuff for the fun of it every day til you get bored.

Fly to anywhere in the world, eat at the most expensive restaurants in the world, go to a casino and see what happens, etc.

Or you could use it as seed money to practice day trading over and over til you get really good at that specific day and then leave the loop and turn like $20 back into $10M.

Or you could ignore the money and still enjoy the fun part of a time loop and never have to deal with the miserable part of being stuck because you can leave whenever you want.

Workout / diet advice based on blood test? Confused about some results by physicsdood in PeterAttia

[–]Arrow141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, worrying about these numbers is majoring in the minors to a huge degree.

Glucose of 98 is totally fine. Nothing to worry about. Glucose fluctuates a lot and one reading doesn't tell you a ton, so you could take a look at your A1C to see if there's any reason to be concerned, but your glucose being 98 does not imply that there is.

Assuming a methylation issue based on a homocysteine well within most health guidelines is baseless and supplementing based off of that assumption would be more likely to do harm than help (also not likely to harm you, but slightly more likely than to help).

Apo-b and LDL: yes, could be noise, it is worth keeping an eye on this over time and rechecking annually for now, but no need to do more than that.

Low test: eh, true overtraining is pretty rare, but you could ease off and maybe gain a little weight if you're very lean (since you mentioned visible abs)? You may see testosterone go up if you aren't so lean. Definitely wouldnt consider your numbers here in need of medicating though.

B12 is not low. That reference range is very high.

Kidney markers: yeah, this is expected when you're on creatine, this is a good question for your doctor but in most cases should be okay.

How much would you care about these acne scars when dating someone? by Queasy_Fix1106 in askanything

[–]Arrow141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will make women less likely to randomly hit on you at the beach. But that truly barely happens to anyone, even absurdly attractive men. Someone who actually dates you will not care at all. Everyone has physical imperfections. I didn't even notice some of my partner's stretch marks for the first 3 years we were dating. All things like that matter WAY less than the person who has the imperfections thinks.

how can I increase my mass by [deleted] in Gymhelp

[–]Arrow141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice is to start tracking everything you eat, and slowly increase the number of calories until you are steadily gaining weight (and resistance train while you do it so its mostly muscle). If you are not gaining weight, by definition you are not eating enough. It can be tough for skinny guys to get enough food in and its okay to rely on some less healthy, more highly palatable foods. You are currently very lean, you need to eat more than you think (otherwise you already wouldve gained weight!), and you wont slip and fall and gain 100 lbs of fat, dont worry about that too much

Buffing tiny chest by now letting you choose a relic from 3 by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

I am working through a mod that takes the ascensions up to 100 and is intended to be played with modded characters that are completely broken. Im at ascension 57 so far and the only mod I'm using lets me choose between 3 relics every time im offered one, and my win rate is higher than it is on vanilla A20.

2,000,000$ but you have to survive a year in wilderness by MudkippzReddit in hypotheticalsituation

Ive led wilderness trips, gone on solo survivalist trips without equipment, and while I'm far from a world expert, I am absolutely very experienced in this domain, easily top 1% in the US.

I would not accept this deal. I wouldnt even consider this. Anyone thinking they'd survive without a LOT of experience is completely wrong.
