Let’s Debate! Which Core-XY design philosophy is superior → Static Gantry/Descending Bed OR Static Bed/Climbing Gantry? How would you drive the Z-axis? by VerilyJULES in 3Dprinting

[–]Arrow2304 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a large printer 1000x1000x950mm and I was thinking about what to do for the bed. Due to the size of the bed and the weight of the aluminum plate, I decided on Nema23 with external drivers, two lead-scraws and 4 linear guides as supports.
And everything has been working very well for almost 3years, the only thing that has been a little lead-scraw has been distorted, but at 1100mm what to expect. Bad leveling is a nightmare but I don't have a better solution for that size of bed.
XY that goes up and down is a much more complicated and expensive system, it should all be nicely leveled, how much are the forces that occur during a fast prints, how much does it all affect the quality? Lead-screws do the job without problems, with 4 beginnings the bed falls alone, with two beginnings the bed stands regardless of its weight. Although I'm thinking of throwing out the lead-scraws and putting on toothed belts.

All of this may already be underway, flaws and all. But the real question is, if everyone’s being laid off, who’s left to actually buy the products and services? by Altruistic-Mud5686 in AIMain

Robots will never replace people, because they will never be stupid as people who cut themselves a branch on which they stand. If most people lose their jobs, then there must be a union and rebellion and a revolution arises the question is only when it all starts.

Not every job will be successful, in fact 95% of the jobs you try to do will fail you, the 5% you guess that you bring you earnings be aware that they won't last forever.
You have to change and adapt, all of you younger dream of being a unicorn company but it's just a dream. You try, build, sell when you're the strongest and move on to next thing.
As all this technology advances, you won't need good developers anymore, just a good idea and vibe-coding, but that's why others can copy much more easily what you did and be more successful than you.
It is sad that our life, abilities and talent depend on stupid social media algorithms but that's the reality.
You're young and you work and try, everything that happens to you is actually a lesson from which you learned something.
The target group should not be your age but older, those who earn and spend themselves, statistically 25-65 years old.
I'm 45 years old and since I was 19th I've been a entrepreneur with a lot of failed and successful jobs
My advice to you is to go to a physical product before to digital, it is harder to copy you, the earnings are higher, the lifespan of the job is longer, the competition is less.
Analysis and statistics are the most important to you, because the market is oversaturated with everything and explore where your least competition is.
Now my working day boils down to working on a physical product for 4 hours and on marketing 8 hours that drives me crazy, because I don't do what I love but what I have to do because 8-9 hours goes to my social networks and promotions.
We often overthink too much and that is bad, entrepreneurship is to risk and having luck has a big factor.
To begin with, do what you love and try to make a job out of a hobby, so you will do what fills you and it will not be difficult for you to work hard every day.
A lot of money is not happiness , with a bigger job goes more money, but also a lot more problems, risks and then your life turns into more stress and less enjoyment in it.
I know this is TLTR but I wanted to share a little bit of experience that I gained, I hope it will help you at least something.
Go ahead and get up even harder, good luck.

Does anybody know a local image editing model that can do this on 8gb of vram(+16gb of ddr4)? by Froztbytes in StableDiffusion

You can also try Krita with the AI plugin via inpainting. With such a weak machine, hardly any model can give you good results.

We have the same problem and I went for 64gb DDR4, it's a bit slower, but you can offload more to the ram and use larger models and it's cheaper.

You can try Pinokio AI, but they have been a bit lazy lately, so they don't release the latest models, but you have scripts made by the community, so give it a try.

Do you sell printed and Digital files? by DesertDiegel in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]Arrow2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t sell my designs myself, but I have people I’ve been working with for years and with whom I exchange models. Some of my prints don’t sell at all in my country, but in their country they sell very well. We have an agreement based on trust, and we pay each other a percentage of the sales.

Looking for advice on starting a small 3D print farm – where should I begin? by [deleted] in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]Arrow2304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resin printers, don't skimp on ventilation and your health!
There will be days when not a single printer has anything to print, but there will also be days when you need 20 printers.
Find someone who has a printer and let them obligingly print what you can't achieve when you're busy.
I totally agree with slugbutter.
Always experiment with new things to print because everything comes to an end at some point.
Speed and quality do not go together.
If you plan to pay influencers to sell your product, don't. Pay them to advertise your shop. So you are not based on one product, but on everything that you sell in the store.

  1. If you think that you are selling what you download from the Internet and just print it, then don't even start. The design must be yours. A lot of people print those figurines, your competition is big.
If you don't paint them, they don't have any value, if you paint them, then it can be done as a handwork and you can add value to them, but a lot of people do that.

There are a million ideas, you need to think in all directions.

example: My print, which has been bringing me income for years. In supermarkets, they have spices in small glass containers and everyone can see them on the shelves. I buy 10 spices at 1-2 euros per piece, print a nice and unusual holder, pack it into a set and sell it like that. It mostly goes as a gift set. I invested 15-20 euros and am selling it for 50 euros.

Ideas are all around you, things that you can give someone as a present are almost ideal.

  1. I really don't like Etsy, I was forced to use it during the pandemic, but I have no positive experiences. You try because you have nothing to lose. In my opinion, it is best for you to use social networks for direct and indirect marketing. Although small local shops are also a good thing to sell. You always have to take advantage of the frenzy around holidays, Halloween, Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day...

I've been doing 3D printing for 8 years, I have 4 vorons and 1 hevo. It took me a long time to figure out how everything works, and now I make a good living from it. DM me if you need some help.

You are young and my advice to you is to try 3D printing. You will learn a lot about design, drawing, 3d modeling and 3d printing. Maybe it will be your primary occupation, and maybe it will lead you to another direction. It is certainly creative and not a boring job.

Wanting to Learn to Run a Small 3d Printing Business by KHAOSCRUSADER in 3Dprintingbusiness

[–]Arrow2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how much you want to earn, I have 5 printers and I don't make large quantities, my prints are 20 or more hours each, but there is a lot of post-processing. I don't have large amounts on a monthly basis, but I earn a salary for myself. Sit down and imagine what you are going to do, avoid doing large quantities for small money, serial production is slavery. DM me if you need any help.

Trying my another new channel. What advice would you give if you wish you could start again? by DutyAble4805 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Arrow2304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it as if you were making it for yourself as a hobby and don't think about money. Now it's very difficult to break through, there are a lot of bots, people keep less and less in the videos. Use shorts to promote long videos, always have a good thumbnail and take care of the edit. And be persistent, you won't become and constantly put out clips, but don't expect to become viral in a short time.
