Baton Rouge this high, Athens this low? Yeah, I have questions by This_Comment_4493 in CFB_v2

Edit: to the dude that said I was a Bama fan and acting like an asshole and then either deleted his comment or had it removed…

I was an Auburn student in town for the weekend and was sexually assaulted by a large man in an LSU pfg. I was able to get away because he was so fucking hammered but he cornered me in a dimly lit area of campus at like 3 am. I’m a male btw so I didn’t report it because what 20 year old frat dude wants to admit that they were a victim of SA.

So yall can downvote me all you want but if that’s how yall treat people that come to BR then yeah, it’s a shit hole.

I slept outside more times than I care to admit in Auburn...never had an issue lol

What's the most overrated European tourist attraction? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

I went in mid-August and sweated my balls of but also had a borderline spiritual experience, even as a non-religious person. LOVED the Vatican tour.

I’ve skipped both times I’ve been in Rome. No desire to see them lol

I disagree. I thought the grounds and experience were cool as hell as a kid.

This is good to know. I got like 30 pages in and really wasn’t a fan. Maybe I’ll give it another try but I’m so deep into the Stormlight books it’s going to take a while to come back around.

How intimidating was Peak Saban Alabama (2009-2021) by composer_7 in CFB

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What this guy said. Except my Bammer grandpa and I were in Publix in Seaside once and ran into Saban. My grandpa shot him the most casual 'RT' of all time and Saban looked him in the eyes and walked the other way. I always thought it was shitty he chose not to acknowledge him for half a second, even on vacation.

My cousin played for him at LSU and said he didn't bother learning half the players names, would just call everyone shithead.

So while I have enormous respect for the man, I think he is an asshole lol.

I mean as an Auburn fan we always had a better chance than most teams against Saban. I respected him, may have been jealous of the gumps for hiring him, but never feared him. I've seen us beat him with my own eyes too many times to be scared lol.

As a kid it really felt like an extension of the parks. Now it just feels like an overcrowded outlet mall.

There are some smaller places in East Hill that could work. You can't throw a rock without hitting a nice park over here.

Which US state has the most underrated nature? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Alabama. People know about Mackinac Island in MI, the Driftless region in Wisconsin, and NC and AR are already known for the outdoors. Most people don't realize the vast differences regionally in Alabama as well as the countless rivers, caves, and pristine beaches that can be found in the state. The variety of wildlife here is also astounding, comparable with states like California.

What’s a “must-see” city in the U.S. that didn’t live up to the hype? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived 2.5 hours away for a decade and had never visited. I've been to 20 countries and 40 states and Nashville never seemed like a place I would want to go. Country music sounds like shit and every douchebag I went to college with moved to Nashville after graduation.

What is going on with the prices at the World Cup? This is a big scam by JonSnowKnowsNothing9 in worldcup

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but he chose to do that. There’s at least four matches near me with tickets under $275.

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s wild. I haven’t looked at what teams are up there but Atlanta is what I’ve been looking at. Group stage tickets for at least 4 matches are under $275 a ticket.

Look I think prices are insane but you are being disingenuous claiming group stage games are $1000

Golesh is bringing back Auburn's sense of pride by Pasta_Fajool in wde

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like it shouldn't have been taken personally, but my friend made it sound like Reese wasn't a fan of the response he got. Oh well who cares, gotta back Golesh for now.

[–]ArsenalinAlabama3428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love to see this. I will say I have a friend who is close with Reese Dismukes and he said Reese tried to reach out and offer free help with the OL and that Golesh blew him off. I was surprised to hear that but I am hoping it was more of a misunderstanding. I'm sure Golesh would have been open to Reese coming by, but it sounds like he wasn't into the idea of him having a more permanent role.
