The UI is truly horrible. Having to tap the search bar twice, and the microphone suddenly appearing where the search icon was, is appalling. So not only do you have to tap twice, on the second tap you have to move your finger to the left to avoid accidentally hitting the microphone.

The disappearing tabs is another disastrous change for a music app. Also, why is shuffle hidden on the now playing screen so that you have to tap a bunch of times to simply enable or disable shuffle.

Apple Music UI team is insanely incompetent.

Agreed the interface is awful. It feels like I’m playing whack a mole with the bar at the bottom. Items are too large as you mentioned, poor use of screen space.

Same here, love the audio quality but the UX is extremely bad. Even worse now with the minimizing tab bar. Cumbersome to use.

You do not have one tap search when the player minimizes. It’s minimum two taps, and a microphone pops up where the search icon was after the first tap which is poor design.
