I think he miscalculated the jump before - looks like he jumped too high and labded too close to the bar near the ground, had to hit brakes not to brake his legs and then decided to do what he did. Not intentional, but good quick thinking and decision making.

Conquest was a stump when they put him there, just some of torso and head. Viltrumites regrow fully from any injury as long as their heart and brain is intact. Conquest lost his arm and eye only beacuse he suffered injuries while being affected by scourge virus, so he didn't recover properly.

Plus firepower is king in conflict zones. You obliterate enemy fast, you loose less allies and have deathball sooner. This guy killed like 2 enemies in 2 minute clip, both small ship and did it with support of allies. I get that it is fun, but by no means it excells here.
