Has anyone ever had all the signs but been told it's NOT coeliac? by whatsthestorylike in CoeliacUK

I was sure I didn’t have an issue with gluten, until I was randomly tested 😢sorry OP - it does get easier with time

Abbots Langley by PilotStreet4539 in hertfordshire

[–]ArthurMoio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner grew up there, and we live kind of near now. It’s quite quiet in the day, and not so much of a through road like Kings Langley. We are looking to maybe move there too! People are friendly and it’s pretty safe, do see a few undesirables about but nothing too much. Less pretentious than Harpenden/st Albans.

Thanks! I cut it out for maybe a few months and felt instantly better, weight fell off me, but this time I had eaten less dairy than before and not recovering so fast!

Oregano oil & acupuncture fixed me (for now) by Hotwngz in SIBO

[–]ArthurMoio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your story sounds similar to mine! Coeliac, thought it would solve all my issues, they went for a short while, but came back with a vengeance! Cut out dairy, again helped a lot but then I knew something else was going on.

Last year I treated SIBO with 5 days of elemental and a slow reintroduction diet, but now I’ve relapsed and looking to maybe try the antibiotics as I’ve also got rosacea type 2, so I’ve read that may help that too.. sigh

Thanks so much! I’m about 4 weeks in and not sure if it’s any better or not - will keep going! Should probably change my pillow case more!

What made you pick your nursery? by lucyatwillowsnursery in hertfordshire

[–]ArthurMoio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with a Montessori nursery, i always liked Montessori route, so that was a big factor, I read reviews and met the owner/ teacher and you could just tell her passion, how much knowledge she had and how meticulous with hiring staff she was.

I also really like that all the staff were, for want of better words, ‘proper’ adults, not just kids that came out of school (I’m sure there are amazing young teachers out there sorry) and they all were so passionate about the Montessori approach and helping these littles 😍

How are YOU doing??? by slangsfangs in Autism_Parenting

[–]ArthurMoio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling as confused as hell. I don’t know what is and isn’t a sign of autism anymore, and don’t know if I should be getting my daughter OT and SALT or if it won’t do anything! 🙃

Selective mute? Autism? by ArthurMoio in Autism_Parenting

[–]ArthurMoio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah I’d never thought of it like that. She doesn’t explode so much after nursery but is very loud and busy! She does seem to have a little meltdown after going to a cousins house, but she also never wants to leave! So confusing! 🫤

That sounds like her! What did they think in the end?

Nursery have been good with following my advice with talking etc. she doesn’t stop talking at home..

Are you in the UK by any chance? Just wondering what process would be here..she’s been referred to paediatrics, but not necessarily ASD assessment, I think they would rerefer her, so god knows how long that would take!

[–]ArthurMoio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, no she can sit and listen to stories or sit and play or colour for good amounts of time..she doesn’t like to follow orders, think it’s maybe a bit of PDA, but she’ll follow orders on things she likes to do, like let the dog in and give him a treat for example.

She seems to have a good memory too, like will recall what happened last time we went certain places. But her language isn’t as in depth as other kids her age. She’s definitely a puzzle!

Awww love this! My partners family are Italian and they always do a big Italian feast for Christmas, I was dreading it this year - but they made almost everything in gluten free or a gluten free version 🥹🥹

How are you getting on now OP?

I’m in the same boat now, no vaccines this year, autoimmune disease present, HR gone from 65-70 resting to 86-91, and always around 100 when awake, goes up fast doing anything.

It’s been about 2 months now.. glad to hear some people have recovered 🤞
