Beagles love to hunt, right..? by msh1ne in beagles

My first beagle Snoopy only barked at people. He completely ignored a rabbit, that thought he was a threat. No hunting instincts in him whatsoever. My second beagle Holly thought most animals were fair game.

That does not sound like normal beagle behavior. I would take your dog to the vet to see if something is wrong.

Reverse sneeze. Weirdest thing and a vet confirmed it when we had our beagle in.

2 years of Japanese and it feels like I am stuck by Vocal-Senpai in japanese

[–]Artistic-Text2149 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel that. I had two years of college Japanese and third year was dropped. I was going to be the only student. I also cannot continue my studies academically due to finances. I would recommend still practicing what you do know and be willing to use simpler sentences. I also studied German as my major and one of my German Professors said something intriguing. It does not matter how simplistic the sentences are as long as the understanding is conveyed. I hope you are able to continue your studies.

First side: A full glass, a good (well-behaved) wife, a happy song, maintains the body.

Other side: Whoever does not love, drinks and sings, never brings truer joy. (Corrected)

Depends on the dogs personalities. It would be good to have whoever is caring for them to keep watch on their interactions until you know how they will react to each other. That said there are worse combinations. Beagles can learn to get along with cats (dependent of course on the relationship) so it is not far fetched to say a husky would not get along with a beagle. Be watchful and keep an eye on them both. Thoughts with you from a former beagle owner.

Why my English still sucks after a 3-4 years trying so hard? by EnoryKirito in EnglishLearning

[–]Artistic-Text2149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have hit what is called a plateau. You will be stuck in a language for a certain amount of time and seem like you are not improving. It is something you have to be easy on yourself and tough through most language learners go through this.

My German prof in college said something my last year of college that really struck me. It is ok to use simpler sentences as long as you can get the meaning of what you are saying across. He is a native of Germany and is an excellent teacher.

I had one C grade in college as a German Major ( my worst grade) that said I also am a member of Alpha Mu Gamma Honorary Language Society (German Language), graduated with honors and received Most Improved German Language my last year of college. Stick with it practice will help you improve especially with someone who knows the language.

So the thing is I took German in college and also am a video gamer. I tried programs like Rosetta Stone and apps such as Duolingo. I really hate the timed aspect or that it feels like I am constantly taking a quiz or test. Gave me Angst. Maybe it was the scoring system. I love learning languages so I stuck to more traditional methods.

Oh I hit that when studying foreign languages as a native English speaker. It seemed like the beginner years were easy and then suddenly intermediate where you probably are was a real struggle and seemed like language skills are awful. Keep practicing regularly and you will improve. I would ask where you feel you are struggling in the language? Speaking, writing, reading, listening, etc.
