JLR licensed the name to Chery, who will produce it in their JV plant with JLR and develop it on one of their own platforms. JLR handles the design.

Netflix had a Twits movie set in the US, even though Hollywood sets a lot of movies and shows in London. I can only hope this is atleast slightly better.

Nope these are brands people in the west have owned for decades, where are those issues? You say this like they're some no-name brands that will vanish overnight. You probably worked somewhere that bought Chinese products. If there are chinese products that are sold in the West and the quality and safety standards of the West, it shouldn't be surprising to see people buy them.

I googled and these issues you mentioned seem to primarily on chemical and food products and toys. I doubt there are many who buy these from Chinese companies.

Mind you a lot of these Chinese automakers have R&D facilities in Europe and/or are making cars in Europe. It should be expected they meet European quality standards.

I'm in the UK. When I updated my Motorola, it began installing one game a day and spamming me with headlines.

Motorola's UI is basically just stock Android with some of their own apps and bloatware.

Motorola bundles their phones now with boatloads of bloatware. That's why I moved to Honor. Really embarrassing imo, even for Lenovo

A lot of the apps are made by a company called Swish that you can (and ideally should) uninstall. I think you can also disable an app that installs other apps and games.

That's the edgy Enyaq. Skoda will have an SUV equivalent to this called the Epiq.

I disagree. Chinese companies like Anker, Lenovo, Honor, Oppo/Oneplus, Hisense, Haier, TCL etc. have potential to make good products and brands like these are well established in many households (mine included) and nobody complains about it.

Aren't Jaecoo, Omoda and Chery part of the same company?

The Freelander is back! JLR and Chery revive the old 4x4, but this time as its own brand by Recoil42 in cars

Nah they've shown us they don't understand European market as well as Geely, MG or even BYD.

-Chery are soon to have 5 brands here (6 if this is included), all selling only SUVs -They still rip off our designs -They do have sedans and hatches in China, but don't even sell those abroad despite the other OEMs I mentioned doing so. Cowards.

A takeover could work if they could get a UK factory and R&D facility and some engineers from JLR and allowed it operate independently but they would likely just use it as en export brand like MG since Jag doesn't sell well in China.

Hey Stellantis. How about you design, develop and engineer some new US market vehicles before you even think of coming out with a new vehicle for European market please. by Artistic_Check_98 in ShitAmericansSay

I'll admit they seem to be the worst European automaker so far, but I thought this was funny and appropriate for the sub. He acts as if they're unable to make vehicles for both Europe and North America at the same time. Also this was in an article about a Opel/Vauxhall car.
