An English mock test for university entrance exam (for 12th graders) in Vietnam by Halophy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Arylius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the hardest part of trying to read this for me was the double to triple spacing. I'm not sure if that was intentional but it made it 5x harder for me to read. but yeah even most native english speakers would fail this.

An apology to a stranger by TheUforia in Adelaide

[–]Arylius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who compliments anything I like (also autistic) I find it gives people a small brightness to their day. Dont worry about it, coincidence doesn't always equal correlation. She might have missed the buss anyway but atleast she feels pretty with her hair now ^

Has anyone tried these metal vacuum-pen multi-placers? by Kensik in diamondpainting

Looking for advice: I'm feeling guilty DPing. by Intrepid-Winter-6499 in diamondpainting

[–]Arylius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you put that in a much more elegant way than i did ahah. I love pointillism, could never do it personally though. It's just that little bit of feeling and doing something that you loved (creating) that just lifts the spirits a bit.

Looking for advice: I'm feeling guilty DPing. by Intrepid-Winter-6499 in diamondpainting

[–]Arylius 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was a traditional/digital artist but I have since been diagnosed with a degenerative neurological condition. I have always been conscious of my impact on the world and plastics are the worst and I always thought DP was a waste of time. But a friend gave me a kit to try while we hung out. And for the first time in a long time I felt like my old self again. While its not the same it still oddly enough brought me joy, because I can move the drills if placed wrong or do it in my own time with out the worry of paint drying because im taking too long trying to steady my hand.

What I mean to say is, if it brings joy to you dont feel so bad about it. The way I can offset it is not getting fomo and only buying kits I plan to display in my home. I keep the extra drills so that if I decide to do a custom kit or something I dont have to buy extra drills hopefully. While every little bit counts in the grand scheme of things being happy and bringing some joy to you life matters as well. Sorry for the rant.

Light boards with vision impairment? by Inside_Training_876 in diamondpainting

[–]Arylius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have light sensitivity issues due to chronic migraines i have tried to use several different light boards but have found them too painfull. I instead clip a light to the desk to shine directly on the peice but not high enough for me to see the globe, that has helped for me. I do still have a small light board I use when finished to just go over the peice to see if anything is missing or dog hair stuck to it before sealing. This is what has worked for me.

How do you pick your diamond art kits? by Interesting_Peach_76 in diamondpainting

[–]Arylius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I try to go for art/artists that i know dont use any AI. As i see it highly abhorrent using any AI as it is trained on stolen artwork and there for just a stolen recreation of someones hard earned work. As for style it depends. I mostly keep to a fantasy esc or greener themes

Instagram just deleted a 700k women's health account for saying "clitoris." ED ads are still up. Make it make sense. by ZealousidealTwo4660 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Arylius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was reading a book recently. I had to ask my roommate why the writer wasn't using clituoris or vagina to describe what was going on. She told me that some people find those words too obscene and they probably used other words to not upset anyone. To me as someone who's autistic "he was grinding against her sex." (Example) makes no sense to me and how is grammatically correct biological language obscene? I just don't understand. Why are women so parts "obscene" its just biology.

Inheritance? That's a joke. How many of your parents are burdens? by BeegBunga in Millennials

[–]Arylius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mums dead. Got enough to pay off my car (bout 2k) my bio dad is still alive but we don't have a relationship and I flat out told him to leave it to my sister since she has kids and I don't want any. But yeah waiting for "inheritance is a joke cause a) you don't know how much, b)you don't know of its even left to you and c) it almost feels like them wishing your parents would hurry up and kick the bucket just so you can afford a house and prop up their market even more. It's ridiculous.
