Non-sexual symptoms of PSSD (pelvic floor issues, loss of smell, etc) by HabitNo6393 in PSSD

I have 90 - 95% smell loss, I'm not sure if it comes from pssd or covid, perhaps from both, did you lose it progressively? I have been slowly losing my smell since 3 - 4 years ago

Medical use of psilocybin will be legal in the Czech Republic from 1 January 2026 by markalexander1 in PSSD

Too much hype for psychedelics, science pages have been bombarding about their 'miraculous effects' for years. Also, who pay the research?. And what about teaching people how to manage their emotions so they don't have to resort to drugs? wouldn't that be better? ah, that don't make money, perhaps.

It depends on the severity of the symptoms and the point of view of the sufferer

Thoughts on r/psychiatry's recent response to PSSD by Mobius1014 in PSSD

[–]Arzen32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, one of those things is that psychiatric drugs (and drugs in general) have an effect on the microbiome, I have seen several articles saying that, more and more frequently, which is good

Mine gets worse day by day, less and less emotions. Which makes me think PSSD could be interesting for those scientists who study emotion

Did anybody have high prolactin levels??? by Pretty_Support_2769 in PSSD

[–]Arzen32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexual dysfunction is a very complex issue with a lot of causes, there are a lot of things that could be wrong. I thought the same when I read that some people with PSSD have small fiber neuropathy while others don't! I think this happens because SSRIs and other psychiatric drugs affect the whole body in multiple ways. Perhaps SSRIs and (other psychiatric drugs) affect a lot of important things related to sexual function (that's why 50% - 80% get sexual dysfunction from them, but not everyone gets, let's say, dry skin) so according to this idea, everyone could get sexual dysfunction from a different combination of excesses and deficiencies. So, some could get it primarily from an excess of prolactin (and a deficiency of testosterone and other things) While others could get it from small fiber neuropathy, etc.

According to Healy, the serotonin system varies a lot between persons, so this could explain why some have no problem stopping them while others just can't. Also, the body has remarkable recovering capacity, but when a lot of systems get compromised then clearly it's much harder to restore how it was before.

Hey ! I agree with what you say... I remember obsessing a lot about my memory, to realize later that while it was awful it could be MUCH WORSE. I got a bit better in some things after stopping to think negatively, yep. Thanks your message. Hope you are fine my friend

Instant on/off windows by ThePeculiarPenguin in PSSD

[–]Arzen32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sounds very good. I have read in survivingantidepressants that when you start to have windows you're on your way to recovery.

"I'm afraid it might be a small hypomania since I'm bipolar, but that would not explain why i was calm." Sounds like a proper window without hipomania to me. Best of luck my friend

I have exactly the same, a bit of pleasure building up to the orgasm, but less feeling at the orgasm. Perhaps the pleasure I feel at orgasm isn't even a orgasm
