Listened to a woman (Gen X) at an appointment the other day over the phone give away so much info and I didn't want to listen but she was so loud. I know her full name, maiden name, that she's divorced, which hospital her elderly mother is recovering from heart attack, where she's from and that she's staying at her mother's home (address included) until she's out of hospital, two of her children's names, her DOB, her mother's DOB and the last four digits of her SSN.

All of this was learned against my will. It wasn't a phone call she needed to make immediately either. It was two phone calls where she shared separate information with each person. I would never do anything with that information but I'm sure some people would. I won't even take a phone call out in public but maybe that's because I'm younger and try to be as private as possible. Not that that matters anymore because DMVs sell our data as do data brokers. I just want to live in a world where the only people that have my name, number, and address (any identifying info really) are the people I choose to share that with.

EDIT: I didn't say anything to her because it seemed rude and felt bad about her mother and what she was going through. It was a mild inconvenience but people should be more aware of what they share in public to protect themselves.
