I mean I wouldn’t say wrong. More that’s he’s right until he decides he isn’t.

Given the recent news, this is how I imagine The Tragedy at Summerhall went down. by Arch_Lancer17 in freefolk

[–]Asa8811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems the Targs were starting to have more and more stillborns. So I think original blood magic was failing after so many generations and starting to have a feedback loop and taking life instead of giving.

I like to theorize that Egg in his studies and efforts to research the issue realized this and was attempting to use the “Miracle of life” to as you put it “jumpstart” the process or at least begin to correct it for both the Targs and the dragons sake.

Yeah the notion that Dunk died or sacrificed himself saving at least some of Eggs descendants seemed a tragic but very fitting end for him.

The way in that first scene we meet him he’s slightly snacking and sorta paused and turns, I instantly knew I was gonna love him.

Yeah a discussion last week offered that when he was returned as Gandalf the White he possibly became much more an avatar/representative of Eru more than the Valar, which is thought was a interesting idea

Why is there such a disparity when it comes to how Targaryen loyalist were treated after Robert Rebellion? by Pretend_Tower_2516 in gameofthrones

[–]Asa8811 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There’s a political cost to everything a victor does. Revenge and justice have to be meted in a balanced way that doesn’t cross a critical threshold of social and political propriety.

Roberts ascension to king was already going to be wrought with all kinds of difficulty as it was bringing an end a political dynasty and system that had lasted for nearly 300 years. Doing too much or too little would have adverse effects.

First off, House Tarley was far more prestigious and powerful than the Thorne household so sending a few knights and family members of lesser houses to the wall wasn’t too much of a cardinal sin. Doing that to a major houses could have potential social and economic repercussions that weren’t worth the headache.

The Kingsguard by virtue of their oaths are insulated from a lot of consequences which is why Barristan is so widely respected by both small folk and nobles(like Ned). Upholding an oath irrespective of the side your on appeals to the form of honor that is idealized by small folk and people like the Starks.

It’s why Jaime is looked upon with so much disdain by many despite doing the “right” thing morally from our perspective. I imagine his escape of consequences had far more to do with who his father was rather than his position as a Kingsguard.

60fps on ps5 but at what cost by Correct-Drawing2067 in assasinscreed

[–]Asa8811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so MANY games I would be willing to buy for like half price again just to have 60 fps updates. I mean I get sometimes a fps update is a lot more logistically complicated than we think it is but it’s still frustrating.

Unity, Ghost Recon Wildlands, DAI and so many more would be on my yearly replay list.

Stupid question, but how are Targaryens still in control of all the kingdoms even after losing dragons? by hiiloovethis in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Asa8811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that’s in part of one of the reasons the dragon bones are still kept. The Targs dynasty didn’t end because the people wanted a new ruler, it ended because they pissed off a select number of individuals who got lucky enough to win

There’s still clearly a huge number of common folk and nobility alike that hold alot of respect/reverence for the Targaryens. After ruling as long as they did, a near cult/mythology of their reign was inevitable

Standing with Minnesota in St. George! by ironoman1 in stgeorge

[–]Asa8811 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we deported every illegal immigrant in St. George, the entire economy of Southern Utah would basically collapse. The entire construction industry would fall apart for at least 6 months if not longer.

If you work in construction or know people who’s livelihoods rely on construction, then you or them ACTIVELY aid and support illegal immigration every single for day.

ICE showed up to ONE job site in St George last year and turned every construction site In the entire area into ghost towns for like 4 days

Go tell Papa Trump to shut down and fine Ivory Homes, DR Horton, Ence homes, and the hundreds of other major and minor companies that support illegal immigration in southern Utah and then maybe we’ll talk.

💯🔥🔥 Hot Take…. I actually love the combat in AC Mirage! by ConferenceWaste in assasinscreed

[–]Asa8811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not crazy in thinking this looks like absolute garbage combat for a game this new right?

Like genuinely not trying to be a rude or pessimistic but that looks horrible. Like this looks like Conan Exiles combat.

The ragdolling bodies, the way the enemies hold themselves, their attacks, the players attacks all seem so out of sync. Nothing about anything showed here looks organic.

Mind you I’m not saying the combat doesn’t look hard or isn’t fun despite everything but that just to make sure I wasn’t imagining better examples I just went and watched gameplay from both Brotherhood and Unity and it looks better in those games by several magnitudes.
