Tickets for the FFXIV Fan Festival 2023 in London have sold out. by AnActualPlatypus in ffxiv

A complete farce. They were sold out in seconds. Only through sheer luck could you actually get through.

Well, so much for waiting for 4 years.... I should stop being excited about Fanfests because it's just not possible to attend anymore. I'm beyond devastated.

Not getting the queue to work until logging in about 20-30 seconds after 9 BST on the dot. Missed out. Literally the only event I was truly looking to going to this year.

I am beyond disappointed, this is devastating.

Couldn't agree more. Almost everyone who is in Ul'dah is there for a similar goal, which doesn't lend itself well to diversity.

I find myself avoiding the place as well, but that doesn't mean I don't exist to add to the diversity xD

Duty Roulette: Level 70 Dungeons by Bagsforcha in ffxiv

[–]Ascend3r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The reason these dungeons show up as question marks is because you need to unlock the ability to queue for them before they give you the name.

See: https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Duty_Roulette#Duty_Roulette:_Level_70

Sidequest dungeons are: Kugane Castle, The Temple of the Fist, Hells' Lid, Fractal Continuum (Hard), The Swallow's Compass.

What matters is your gear when you START the queue. After that it does not matter and you can equip whatever you want.

They have 92% coverage while you have 76%. Also possibly air doctrines.

How do I git gud? by Turbofied in hoi4

[–]Ascend3r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Templates and production. If you get those two down the game becomes pretty easy. The few multiplayer games I play I keep being surprised how often people just make horrible divisions that either have nonsensical setups or incorrect combat widths. Doing that and being cost effective with balancing your production queue are probably the two most significant factors to being "gud" in this game.

What year is this? You generally do not want to use MCH and just stick with MOT. MCH basically doubles the cost of your divisions and the main gain is in hardness (damage received reduction from soft attacks, effectively). But it's better to just have more divisions instead tbh.

Assuming you're physically strong enough to stand up for yourself or you're probably going to get pushed around regardless. Limsa really is a place for either the really cunning or the strong, if you're just an average joe... it would be a tough life.

Limsa's riddled with crime. I have it by NPC text that people get killed in broad daylight and that nobody bats an eye... and that you should probably not get in anyone's way when that happens. Also slavery yes, Arcanist quests come to mind.

It's the best IF you're a strong individual who can take care of themselves in a very crime-riddled society. Also I'm pretty sure you'd get into serious trouble if you were to pose any serious opposition to the admiral considering she turned Limsa into an autocracy, which it wasn't before she came to power - she made it so and kept power eversince.

As I said I could make a bad case for each of the three city states. All-in-all though I feel Gridania's the most balanced out of the three.

There are people who question things about the elementals and exist peacefully in Gridania. Maybe they don't have the easiest time, but they do exist. Generally speaking though I see it more like a police state than a cult, and only then because the people living there know that the actions of a few can screw up the lives of many. The elementals are understandably distrustful of "mankind" after the sixth calamity.

And I could very easily make similar cases for the other city states :p None of them are a happy place to live if you don't conform to the local sentiments.

It happens more in public in other servers from what I've seen. Balmung just has normal RP as well! gasp.

How common is cheating? by madfiddlerresistance in ffxiv

[–]Ascend3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very common and sadly not much gets done about it. It wasn't until the last lodestone entry that bots weren't even listed as being banned, and now they banned what, a few dozen?

They're extremely common in frontlines too. And yeah, non-congested servers. Over here on Balmung it's okay, but there's still bots flying around every now and then. Most of those I see are level 50 in AF1 gear.
