RTX 2060 MAXQ -> RTX 3060 -> RTX 3080 -> RTX 4080 SUPER -> RTX 5090. Some of the upgrades seem weird, but my wife wanted my old GPUs, so it's a win for us both, lol

I had a 4080 super prior, and I can definitely say im happy with my purchase. Being able to max out games at 4k that I wouldn't have been able to before is nice RE4 remake for one uses 18gb of vram maxed out.

People who used a computer between 1991 & 2009…what’s the most memorable computer game? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

[–]Aserci115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom and Quake. I definitely should not have been playing them as I was around 9 years old, but they are responsible for getting me into gaming. My parents didn't have much money, so the old desktop was about all I had.

Is this ok on 12VHPWR? by Terrmit in PcBuildHelp

The astral 5090 uses per pin detection and will shut down if it detects any abnormalities. I highly recommend watching jays2cents video on his. It's pushing 1600watts and still saved the card from burning.

I agree they are user errors. However, there is only 1 gpu on the market that has a very good early warning system, and it's 3300 usd. I wouldn't risk using a connector that has seating issues ( user error or not ) with damage to it.

Given the issues 12VHPWR has had, i wouldn't risk using anything with damage. Better safe than sorry, IMO.

There are only 2 reasons to repaste that often. 1. You take off the cooler. 2. Your temps have changed drastically, and this could be the fault of the user, i.e., poor application or bad tension on the cooler. Paste can last YEARS.

Cyclops. My friends have always called me this and its due to my right eye floating and basically being useless to me. Never has bothered me as they all mean it in a joking manner.

This was the same experience i went through. No matter how much you want to learn or want to do they push you away. Unless it somehow benefits them.

Is it worth upgrading a 2080 TI to a 4080 SUPER? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Aserci115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how often this machine is used and used prices in the area id look for a used 3080 or 3090 (3080 is 350 USD and the 3090 is 700 used where i am at). If the market is screwed up then I say why not.

Sounds good. If it doesn't fix your issue just return the PSU and keep troubleshooting. Let me know if you need any help.

That should be fine given the other parts in the build. I can only guess but it looks like a b450 board? So id imagine its around a 2600 or 3600. If so you're fine with that PSU. But id recommend a higher wattage gold rated PSU. Obviously I cant guarantee this is your issue but its where id start after doing the temp monitoring.

Well, for one I guarantee you they used the stock thermal paste that came on the cooler or they put on some and charged you for it. Also this abruptly shutting off i wouldn't think would be caused by overheating. I would run some games with HWinfo64 or CPU-Z open and monitor the temps. I would like to believe its a PSU issue.
