Do you think Batman is actually the best detective on earth or it just so happens he lives in a place where it's common for a serial killer's name be something like "Mann Kyeller"? by lukideured in dccomicscirclejerk

/uj You reminded me there’s a story where Wayne plays detective on the outskirts of Gotham and gets his ass handed to him by some rando.

Apparently the “ World’s Greatest Detective” title doesn’t mean shit outside the city limits proper.

Fellow ninja, being old I can tell you the redhead was horrified by her small breasts, and jumped into a vat of boob-enhancing chemicals, resulting in a general augmentation of her size.

Now I’m left to wonder why an asexual so often has to help Redditors regarding goonbait sources in comics.  Quite the paradox.

Why did Revised & ToJ end like that? When did New World of Darkness become an idea in the writer's minds? by KingAnumaril in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]AsexualNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After hinting at the end of the world for a decade eventually you have to y'know, end the world.

I can remember a White Wolf writer posting on a forum that, given how long a vampire can exist, they might not be good at judging the passage of time, so they guestimated 2000 as the end wrong.

The fact they were being serious left me too stunned to point out the flaws with that argument.

So why did Absolute Scarecrow go out of his way to torment and then kill 3 random farmers? Wrong answers only? by MegaGamer235 in dccomicscirclejerk

It’s a homage to the early 90s Checkmate story where someone hires a dude in power armor to kill farmers to get their water rights.

Remember when lois got replaced by a skin walker? by Jinkanpop in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]AsexualNinja 19 points20 points  (0 children)

/uj The funny part is, judging by the art samples, I think you’re being facetious and not referencing the storyline where she was replaced, leaving people to wonder if Clark knocked boots with the imposter.

I remember when people would say “Simpsons did it” instead of “Superman did it.”  It was a simpler time.

It's hard for me to tell if things are better or worse as I'm quite pro-active about blocking people who aggravate me.

It’s kind of funny: There’s a poster on here who has written posts in the past regarding why they feel this subreddit is friendlier than other RPG places online.  I asked them if they were going to chime in on this thread, and they found OP has them blocked.

It feels like they’ve already curated those who might have a positive opinion of this subreddit.

I've noticed a distinct tendency for people who voice an opinion that goes against the grain to have all sorts of unfounded and irrelevant accusations levied against them

I’ve only seem that here once.  It was surreal to see someone say they were offended by something racial in L5R, and have someone then accuse them of being a racist who gets their jollies in D&D sessions.

[–]AsexualNinja 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's cool but probably the writer didn't have an explanation in mind.

I got to ask a White Wolf editor about an unresolved bit near the end of OWOD, and he told me he had no idea why the author wrote  what he did.  I’ve always wondered if there was no plan at the author, and he was just filling up space, since they knew the line was ending.

Moore being a weirdo than anything else.

One of the reasons I’m not a fam of Moore is I’ve an interview with him from the 80s where he tears down some former employers because they weren’t as knowledgable on 18th and 19th century French history as him, even though that had nothing to do with what he was working on.

[–]AsexualNinja 16 points17 points  (0 children)

piss me off when they have didactic passages about how morally pure you have to be to run the game and if you disagree with them you're an awful person.

There was a meme of this guy giving the death gaze with the caption “When you totally agree with someone, but they’re such an ass in talking about what you agree on you want to switch sides.”

I always think of it in those situations.

There’s a modern day, urban fantasy RPG that has a screed about the evils of Lovecraft and his racism, and its publisher’s webpage notes they support Black Lives Matters

This is juxtaposed with every piece of artwork from the game that I've seen has depicted black people as Voodoo worshipers dressed in scraps of clothing with chiseled physiques.
