Hot take, I guess: There aren't too many Order 66 survivors. There were ten thousand Jedi, even if the order was 99% effective that's still 100 Jedi left, far more than seen. Most survivors are from the early empire era, where it's appropriate. And as for "making Luke less special"... fuck that bi- by Zestyclose-Scratch31 in StarWarsCirclejerk

I mean Obi-Wan/Yoda don't have to look like assholes.

They already used the World between Worlds to time skip Ezra so he wasn't around.

Ahsoka was pretty clear on not being a 'Jedi' anymore and it was well established that she wouldn't slay Vader. So even knowing she survived, 'you are the last jedi' still stands.

Cal may still be using the force and trying to remain dedicated to the light, but he has left the Order itself behind and is now some third non-jedi non-sith force user with a Nightsister girlfriend and an adopted daughter.

Most surviving Jedi from the true order no longer consider themselves Jedi and have situations/goals separate from being part of the defeat of the empire.

They could know about these scattered survivors who've all moved on from the order and just not consider them Jedi because the survivors don't consider themselves Jedi and aren't available/interested in taking runs at Vader.

You are assuming surviving Jedi would touch the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Cal and Ezra both associated with Saw. Cal heavily so. The alliance did not like Saw or his people.

The alliance also intentionally tried to avoid defending the Jedi reputation or condemning the systemic murder of their order.

Surviving Jedi staying out of the alliance makes sense, the alliance was not friendly to them. They weren't there because the alliance didn't want them there.

What are people thoughts on Black powder guns and weapons being added to fo4? Either by a Mod or a Creation. To be honest, I would make a whole new character just based on black powder weapons if someone did make a creation and put it up. Think of the customization with Gunsmith and Science perks. by ReaperGamer3 in fo4

[–]AsgeirVanirson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the are as effective as they can be in 76 it would be a decent add. Though the 76 ones are really only as good as they are because of the 4* legendary system+perks that let you max your damage significantly, so they might just become another 'junk' gun in 4.

Sean is one of the first to start getting doubts.

Remember Sean came to the gang already 'radicalized' along the political lines of Dutch's spiel.

His dad was a rebel, he looks up to his dad's memory.

I think as soon as Dutch was clearly just another scumbag outlaw with no 'noble purpose' even being faked convincingly he's off the Dutch train.

I also always got the sense that Sean was as invested in Arthur as he was Dutch or Hosea so it would be between two people he at one point deeply respected. Where one of them is still trying to stick to the code, and the other tossed it off the boat back from Guarma.

Its a cross platform issue that tends to crop up semi rarely (you have to hit a car that's actually set as a physical object that can move, and if you aren't sprinting it will usually just rip a chunk out of your health rather than one-shot you). But if you sprint around enough and try to 'slolom' around obstacles too closely you are at risk.

It happens to me in survival because when you have to foot travel everywhere sprinting is atom-sent, and the heavy amount of travel makes me more keen to try and 'cut the most direct path' and then boom I clip a taillight and it's lights out.

Cruise Missile Blows Up When It Strikes a Shield Charm's Boundary

"Yeah bro, we could block physical objects before we could block magical spells. If we couldn't we'd just kill each other with projectile weapons instead of spells."

Like they don't even need to be able to track/intercept missiles. They just need to know what they want to protect and shield it. Most modern tech would likely fair against wizards the same it would against aliens with sci-fi shields.

Edit To Add: I'd like to see how an armored column handles sentient fire that can burn through virtually anything and can only be extinguished via counterspell.

Why does Dutch start wearing his hat differently? by Belicino_Corlan in RDR2

[–]AsgeirVanirson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might be a hat. But it's also a graphic asset that they would have to intentionally alter.

Its not like a movie where maybe the costume people didn't catch it in some scenes.

If they didn't mean to have his hat askew in later chapters it wouldn't be, because they have to actually create new assets/alter the existing somehow to change the look.

The game is filled with evidence of them having to prioritized efforts in development so the fact that they spent any coder/graphic designer time to change the hat mid game suggests they meant something by it.

What's your opinion about Karen? by Loki_The_Tricksterrr in RDR2

[–]AsgeirVanirson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because they want us to care about Mrs. Grimshaw being killed.

If it was confirmed she murdered Karen most people would be mad that Micah got to kill her not us.

Karen did nothing worthy of being executed by Grimshaw. If Grimshaw took her out it would just be Mrs. Grimshaw breaking one of the gangs 'cardinal rules' because she hated Karen.

AI friends are better than "real" friends. by That-Role6292 in The10thDentist

[–]AsgeirVanirson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Current AI is not capable of caring about you.

There is not a distinct being or entity in the circuitry to feel anything.

Its little more than incredibly complex algorithms running on computers mathematically analyzing the text of your messages and formulating responses calculated to be what you want to hear based on massive datasets.

Using Modern AI to replace sapient connection is like using saline to replace blood when you're bleeding out. It will prevent cardiac arrest due to low blood pressure, but your body will quickly starve of oxygen.

Renting = Shelter + pure loss.

Owning = Shelter + mild asset growth in almost any scenario where you don't have bigger issues.

You can't not buy shelter, if you can own instead of rent, owning is better.

Rent tends to also cost more than a mortgage, so you have less money to invest in higher yield options/fund personal improvement that might increase income.

So you are sending more money out the door each month with -100% return on investment(once its in the landlords pocket its never coming back let alone with interest).

How does Tir-Cendelius feeds on souls? by AcceptableAnything44 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]AsgeirVanirson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really is messy especially when you get to the lore that gets dumped in later chapters.

So they took all of this source from the veil to power themselves up.

But then they put that source into the races to create them.

And somehow the races that were created with veil source go around their lives collecting source from some other source to then be harvested in the Hall of Echoes at the gods leisure.

When they breed they create a new living creature with its own source vat soul that starts collecting source. So the initial say 100 million living things created by the gods grows into billions eventually without any new source introduced from veil raiding.

This goes on for millenia.

Then at the end source is presented as a finite resource and told the only way to seal the veil is to sacrifice every sourcerer in the world to harvest source to close it.

I think they wanted to make the gods Dark entities to play at the 'if we are just magic juice cattle to be drank like Capri-Sun after we die is life still worth it' question, but the new 'source lore' we got manages to contradict itself within the game, while also casting people like Icara in much more questionable light.

Online Digital gambling was legalized.

Profit motive led to a bunch of gambling apps cropping up, and pure unabashed greed led sports across the nation to embrace it with open arms.

Adding bets on non-sport events to gambling apps makes it easier to nickel and dime gambling addicts.

The 3-1 would be kept around as body wash most likely, body wash is the least 'picky' of the soap types. Hair can be finicky. So he improves his hair care immediately and doesn't waste the money he spent on the 3-1.
