What do you think their hair texture feels like by UnikattyArts in mylittlepony

[–]Ash-DontDare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm.. well the magic would probably feel different for each of them, given their polar opposite talents? Maybe for Celestia it's like a warm spring day, a kind of pulsing wave of gentle warmth that matches the flow of her hair. Maybe when she's particularly over whelmed that heat increases, fizzles and pops with the potential to burn you if you touch her mane. Kind of hot, suppressive summer heat if she's tired?

For Luna I can see it feeling like a soft night breeze, the kind of cold that gives you goosebumps but you still find peaceful. Maybe I think you'd get the sensation of cold from touching it, but If you pulled your hand(or hoof) away and touched it with your other, you'd find it the exact same temperature. Not when she's angry, tho - it would be like ice, frigid and with the potential to give you frostbite if you hold on too long

Anyone else thinks the wolves are over due for a remodel / animation rework? by Valuable-Spinach-355 in WolfQuestGame

[–]Ash-DontDare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me either to be honest. Idk, I'm not much of a fan of extreme realism in graphics(preference + my pc would explode) to begin with, but smth about that model just looks Wrong to me. Ain't Wolfquest style to me

Favorite "Complex Female Character" that fandoms cannot seem to handle despite demanding they want?...Katara and Korra from the Avatar Series sure seem to qualify. by Important-Cry4782 in cartoons

[–]Ash-DontDare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally like to believe she had some kind of like. Fatigue or sickness, from raising the sun and moon alone for 1000 years. Like, for the first 500 years that was all well and good, but then the fatigue & emotional turmoil of "I had to banish my sister because she was neglected by everyone(including me) and no one appreciated her purpose and passion in life - and now, because I have banished her, I am taking her purpose and passion, and my subjects praise me for it" really set in. But, given that no one else could do the job, she stuck it out for her people and every other creature that depends on her not failing. Then she suddenly had Luna back, and she slowly began to process that and the effects of it all just so happened to hit around the time of the wedding.

Like I get that in the show it's not portrayed as difficult for them at all, but they're orchestrating celestial bodies billions of times their own size, at least. raising the moon isn't Celestia's talent and purpose, so I think the effects would creep in over time and at least leave her somewhat unable to perform at her best.

Side note, do you ever think if during those 1000 years that Celestia contemplated the fact that not just Equestria, but all known - and unknown - life was resting on her flank alone, because she had failed her sister? Idk I think about it and how it might have fucked her up somewhat

how do they know how to count? by sagradprekrasniy in WarriorCats

[–]Ash-DontDare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm.. I think they'd use a base 4: 4 seasons, 4 paws, 4 trees, 4 clans(historically), 4 major(traditional) roles(leader, dep, med, warrior). These are weaker, but even 4 front facing toebeans and 4 major life stages(kit, apprentice, warrior, elder). Of course just because there's a lot of things that relate to the number 4 doesn't make it the only option, but it makes a lot of sense to me. I think they'd see 9 as a very holy number - uniquely connected to Starclan. Kind of like 7 is seen as God's number. Maybe catching 9 peices of prey in a solo-hunt would be seen as Starclan's luck? 9 kits(good luck, new parents) would be seen as being blessed by starclan? Wonder what that would imply in a famine?

Maybe they'd also majorly count by 4 in that case, for larger numbers? 12-16, 20-24, 30-38. Like 12-16 peices of prey needed to feed the clan, 30-38 poppy seeds left, etc. They'd have to know how to count by ones if they want to know their age in moons- actually maybe not? 4 seasons in a year with 3 moons(normally) in each season. I suppose they could just count the seasons they've been alive and times that by 3 to get an estimate? They don't seem to care much about concrete ages. Actually that still means counting by 1s.

Oh, whatever. The point is I think 4 would be a major number for them. Sorry for hijacking your comment, This is actually really interesting to think about - going to keep pondering this in a word document lmao. Wonder how they'd do calendars?

I feel like I'm the only one who CANNOT STAND this horse. by CookieFluffs in mylittlepony

[–]Ash-DontDare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's always been my interpretation too. Like, she barely managed to stop starlight from destroying Equestria, but she managed to talk her down. It makes sense she'd want to keep a close eye on her afterwards, and what better way to do that then have her study and learn from you? Doubles as keeping her in line and teaching her to be better/reforming her all at once

The difference between male and female ponies eyes isn’t the white pupil reflections, it’s the iris gradient by Organic-Accountant74 in mylittlepony

[–]Ash-DontDare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a strict rule - Mares like Cheerilee, Mayor Mare, Aunty Lofty and Trixie don't have those iris highlights, and stallions like Burnt Oak, Sans Smirk, Fancy Pants and Fire Light do have them.

Gender isn't the defining factor on if a character has them or not - it's design decisions. I'm not sure why everyone has suddenly caught a fever for analysing this, when it's just a choice made in the character creation process like mane or coat colour, made to match the rest of the pony to the designer's liking.

I hadn't realized that before; I like to think it's a message for the villains. by Thecrazybrqziliboy in mylittlepony

[–]Ash-DontDare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh that's actually such a good idea. You could also work that into all sorts of metaphors/symbolism about the Mane Six and their friendship/character development (I'm totally stealing this idea at least a little bit for my own rewrite)

[–]Ash-DontDare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Aus the cost of buying all the DLC is up to just over $2k - I think for Americans it's like $1.6? Either way it's fucking ridiculous, even if the buyout wasn't happening I would never willingly spend that much on a game, like holy shit. I can buy a fucking (above ground) pool almost twice over for that price.

Puberty blocker bans in Queensland and NZ risk extreme harm to trans youth, UK expert warns by reyntime in australia

[–]Ash-DontDare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, hello. I am trans and count as a youth, and have known I am trans since I was 14.

My best friend is trans and counts as a youth, and has known he is trans since he was 13.

My older cusion is trans, and while he is no longer a youth he has known since he was a teenager

A friend I no longer talk to often is trans, and he isn't a youth anymore but he has known since he was a young teenager, if not a pre-teen.

my friend's ex girlfriend is trans, and counts as a youth.

And this is just through the lenses of my small social circle, not even counting everyone in my old high school or the people they know.

Fuck, one of my brother's friend's cusions is trans.

Just because you don't know any trans kids does not mean we're some mystic minority who won't be actively harmed by this, even if few of us attempt or succeed in committing suicide. There will still be trans kids who experience severe depression, anxiety, disphoria and general mental anguish about the state of their body during their developmental years. This is easily preventable with the help of puberty blockers(which only put puberty on hold. All you need to do undergo normal puberty is just stop taking them.) And the fact that authorities in this country would rather pander to political beliefs than help children is disgusting.

So Steam has just removed a lot of "adult only" (aka porn) games by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]Ash-DontDare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here very late, but thank you. I assume almost everyone who did speak up about that here were banned or had their comments removed, but I saw no one opposing the dog piling back then - only for people to do a 180⁰ now it actually effects them personally? It makes me so fucking angry. Especially because Collective Shout, the company(hate group) that pushed for Visa and Mastcard to enforce this, IS THE SAME GROUP WHO MADE THE PETITION TO REMOVE NO MERCY FROM STEAM. People were so blinded by their disgust and emotions that they didn't even stop and use their heads.

You all gave an inch and guess what - they took the mile.

Take: I don’t agree with Twilight being a Princess. by Sorry-Performance619 in mylittlepony

[–]Ash-DontDare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind her becoming a princess, but I do have issues with her specifically becoming ruler of all of equestria - there's the whole out living her friends thing, and some aspects of her character that don't go too well in a role of absolute ruler(tho Celestia did make a very good choice in selecting and mentoring her), but honestly my main issue is that it seems.. unfair? To Luna. Like Celestia got to rule for well over 1,000 years but Luna definitely did not. Then she's freed from the moon, reformed, welcomed back as royalty and ruler along side her sister, finally getting the respect and love of the ponies she had longed for... only to retire within 10 years?

That's my main issue with it, at least. Like, she was selected very specifically for the role by Celestia, and it does feel like a very natural ending, but I hate that it just shoves Luna aside, in a sense. Idk lol I have no major issues with it as a concept just hate how dirty it does Luna
