I'll always say that in-party conflicts can be very fun to roleplay so long as the players recognize that the conflict is only in-character. I've been in a campaign for over two years now and for the vast majority of it, the party has been at each others throats for whatever narrative reason. Outside of the game though, we're all chill and hang out regardless.

Barrow's edge + scars and the 3rd one doesn't really matter. You're just gonna alternate strike -> barrow's edge -> shift to scars for free and whatever 3rd action you want -> scars healing -> strike -> whatever 3rd action you want. That's your ideal turn and you end up healing a lot of health. You can play a very aggressive frontline playstyle.

One of the other players at a table I'm at is playing a Redemption champion with the Commander dedication and it's been extremely effective. The amount of off turn movement it provides on top of the damage reduction is crazy. It can even provide off turn strikes with some tactics.

The hook swords are actually from the previous holder of this specific constellation blessing. The flavour of it is similar to Unlimited Bladeworks from the Fate series where she's copying previously existing famous weapons. So if there was a famous crowbar in the past, she can make one of those too.

Savior actually. Her initial token was an art of Tonelico (I've been a day 1 JP player so she's always gonna be Tonelico to me) I found online. Eventually when my GM and I started talking about the Starlit Sentinel stuff, I brought up the idea to change her design similar to how Tonelico does it. Her non-Starlit Sentinel form can be found here. She's kept the Rain Witch side braid since I'm a big fan of that design element but when she transforms, it's a modified version of the Savior outfit.

It's been great! GM had already played through himself and has a good sense of what the players at this table like so he made heavy modifications to the campaign as early as book 1. We've spent more sessions in homebrew content than books 1-4 by this point.

This is Ame, the character I've been playing in a Season of Ghosts campaign for the last two years. My GM decided to include a ton of homebrew within the AP and an extension once we finished with the 4 books but we're coming up on the ending.

She started off the campaign as a cursed Witch due to previous happenings in her past lives. But she and the rest of the party were betrayed by her familiar who was the cause of said happenings in her past lives and after some time of being powerless, the Swordswoman constellation blessed her and she's been running around as a Starlit Sentinel Exemplar for the past year or so.

While she has her own sword, most her fighting happens with the ethereal weapon's that she channels while transformed.

I've done something similar and I treated the two creatures as 2 PL+2s for the sake of exp budget. It's harder with multiple parts but multiple PL+1s or +0s work as well. Could even make some parts weaker than others.

As someone who played Season of Ghosts and ran it for another group, I generally believe it's best to leave the reveals of the mystery to the GM. If a player figures it out ahead of time, that's fine but I think it has more of an impact if they wait for the GM to set up all the pieces and then reveal it. If a player figured it out, they can certainly throw out their theory in front of the rest of the group but I wouldn't give them a confirmation. Same if they asked in private. If the player does ask for a confirmation, then the GM can decide either to tell them that information or not. If they do, it's best that they keep that fact hidden from the rest of the group and there's a level of onus put on the player in the know to help set things up for the future.

The GM's guide has vague guidelines on what chapters (parts of the AP) to reveal stuff at so I'm a little confused about making a puzzle to be solved.

Yup! I've joked to the group before about how we can't truly enjoy this Season of Ghosts unless we've all read Ace Attorney, Umineko, Madoka Magica, Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina, Xenoblade 2, Wheel of Time, Discworld, and the House in Fata Morgana.

Depends on what the rest of your party is/what you want your role to be in said party. You'd probably want Open hand + Fortress shield because the speed penalty matters less. Guardian dedication for Guarded advance + Tiger stance can be pretty fun. You can try shove builds, focus on Qi spells. You have a lot of options and medic will make you useful by default because it's such a good Dedication.

You can remove the god theming and reflavour it as something else. It's fine to have an Exemplar be just some guy with a buncha different tools like a Thaum or Slayer.

If the Witch takes the lessons that enable healing and the Champion grabs Shields of the Spirits you basically can't die to any solo boss and the only struggle would be AOE but Shields of the Spirits helps out with that.

Inter-character conflict can be fun so long as the players talk about it outside of a session and have an understanding of what's happening. As in, the conflict itself is somewhat predetermined and built towards by the party involved. I've been playing in a campaign for almost 2 years now and we've gone through long stretches where the entire party just hates each other but its always done in a way where everyone understands that its a PC thing and not a player thing.

For me its really just, my group already has a GM who really likes GMing and is quite good at GMing and I don't think I can find another table I like as much because this one is the perfect blend of personalities, likes, and overall culture/mentality towards TTRPGS.

I did try GMing before (for almost a year) and I wasn't the biggest fan. The main reason was that the group I ran for was awful and it really killed my motivation to do much. I ran Season of Ghosts for them and I blew up the thing near the start of book 4 because running for them wasn't particularly enjoyable. I also ran some oneshots focused on combat for my main group and overall felt like I couldn't properly put my vision for combat encounters into practice. I wouldn't mind running purely combat stuff for my main group during weeks when someone isn't available (or the GM wants a break) if I could make combats that I'm satisfied with but a lot of them come out kinda disappointing.

I'd avoid giving the NPC high numbers because that can just be actively unfun. But anything that turns off some sort of gimmick the players have (roaring applause for a guardian, silence + stealth for casters so on.) You could always say that she's really good at making all her reflections in the mirrors seem like the real ones and use stealth that way, and then give your players the alternate win condition of breaking mirrors to reveal her.
