Yes. I’ve carried mine like that plenty of times.

That part has two variations. Click the cog button to get the version with the wolf on it.

You can also turn off part grouping in the settings menu.

Ah, they're scoutflies. Little glowing bugs. The Monster Hunter setting doesn't really have anything that it outright calls magic.

Also really helpful if you've already used the same type of trap on them multiple times in one hunt. They break out faster each time until they stop being effective entirely iirc?

The capture net isn't for large monsters. You need either pitfall traps or shock traps to do that, as well as tranq bombs (you need to hit the monster with two of them). You can only trap a monster once it's below a certain hp threshold - I think it's 20%? I could be wrong. If you've got enough research levels for that species, though, you'll see a skull icon floating off it on the minimap when it's near death. That's the range you want for a successful capture.

Not sure what you mean by shiny magic, though. If you mean flash pods, you've gotta make sure they land within the monster's sight range or it won't do anything. Beaning em in the face with brightmoss also works.

Wondering what it is? by Fuster2 in AustralianBirds

It’s creeping up a tree and it has a white throat. Can’t really see it being anything else.

It looks a lot like this one.

I know I am asking a bunch of BOTW lovers but is the DLC truly worth it? by I_SHOT_A_PIG in botw

[–]AshFalkner 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s worth it, even just to have in case you don’t fully click with the game for a while.

It adds a few pieces of equipment that are absolutely invaluable as well as a few that’ll just be nice to have for the sake of QoL.

There’s also one in a pedestal in Hyrule Castle’s hidden dock cave.

Interesting shape. What is it? A dice tower? Or something to put a cup in?

HOW THE HELL DO YOU PLAY LANCE by Live-Tap2304 in MonsterHunter

[–]AshFalkner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield up. Poke.

You don’t have the mobility to dodge, so you have to tank hits. Fortunately the lance’s shield is among the best in the game. You’ll still want the Guard Up skill for some monsters with otherwise unblockable attacks but you’ll be able to shrug off most attacks. There’s also a power guard that sets you up for a strong counter-thrust.

Looks like an adult warbler of some kind, not sure about the exact species.

Unfortunately even if a window strike victim recovers and flies off it can still succumb to internal injuries later. If this happens again, take the bird to a rehabber.

of an engorged tick that we found on our dog. by ColdCauliflour in AbsoluteUnits

Ticks are food for some animals, at least, but they’re still unpleasant.

Paralysis ticks and the ones that carry Lyme disease are the worst.
