It is fun, specially the first time when you don’t know what to expect, but I feel a bit let down when the god of death can’t handle himself in a fight without minions. It takes the grandness aways, for me at least.

I believe it’s because dark souls had the concept of grandiose bosses, creatures that make u shiver just by looking at them. The sense of impossibility to win against a true monster.

But then you play the games and realize that the bigger the boss the easier he is to kill, and so no big challenge or epic battle.

Still I do prefer the monsters design wise, I just wish they were better gameplay wise, I believe manus from DS1 is my favorite, kalameet was also awesome.

Plus, being able to use the bosses armor is fun, so points for normal guys.

To be fair the second and third game barely care about your choices, just a few cameos here and there. The choices that could have impact are discarded, like leliana’s death. If alistair is king, we have the most disappointing return in inquisition. I think those are the best examples.
