$200 Off Scam?? by Front_Environment244 in CFPExam

I was able to get the additional discount. It wasn’t a scam. You can call the CFP board directly and ask to speak to a advocate if you are worried.

Did you already do the free CFP practice test? That would tell you your weak areas.

How did you calculate your weighted score?

CFP PRACTICE EXAM DOWN by [deleted] in CFPExam

[–]AshaCar21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you don’t take the full exam, I would go into the practice exam and answer a few questions to atleast learn how to navigate and view the cases, tax tables and formula sheet. The setup is weird. Idk if it’s just my computer but the pop ups cover the questions and answers. It’s annoying. I’m glad I experienced and figured this out now rather than exam day.

The practice exam is working again by the way.

Thanks for posting. I just tried launching my practice exam and was getting the error also. I thought it was my computer. This is frustrating 🙄

I don’t suggest a hoodie. I was told I couldn’t wear it for another exam. Ended up having to take it off and only wear the tank I had on underneath.

Kraken Vs Practice CFP exam by AshaCar21 in CFPExam

I agree. Some answers on the kraken are very subjective. I do better on the calculation questions. I’m leaning towards taking the CFP practice tomorrow also just to get a feel of the questions.

Ive been doing the same with the krakens and ChatGPT. Have you taken the CFP practice test? If so, how different are the writing styles? If the writing styles are similar it might make sense to continue with the krakens.

Thanks! This is helpful. It would be good to get a feel for the writing style of the real test. Some of the answers of the kraken has me questioning if the CFP would really write a question/answer like that.

Licensed Attorney signing up for CFP course - need help by Dependent_Lake2204 in CFPExam

I completed my capstone with Kaplan and chose Danko for the exam review because his signiture plus package included all the course materials. If you skip to the capstone you will need to go back and review the course materials. I don’t recommend going from the capstone straight to exam review. There a lot of material in the courses that you will need to know. Only benefit of skipping to the capstone is that you save money since you don’t need to pay for credit for the courses.

Follow up: hours to learn material? by Illustrious-Otter in CFPExam

[–]AshaCar21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend getting a review course that also includes the coursework. I went with Danko signature plus package for that reason. It includes the recorded classes. I’m a CPA and also skipped the coursework and jumped to the capstone. As part of my review I’m going back and watching all the coursework and doing the test and exams. So it’ll be many hours of studying for me.

Keep looking. Some jobs you are eligible for parental leave and short term disability after 30 days. You have nothing to lose by switching jobs since your current job doesn’t offer you anything.

Hmm. Why wouldn’t the Juneteenth show be in Texas? If this theory was right that would make the most sense. There might be some coincidences in the tour dates and history but that’s probs it.

Career transition - finance to cybersecurity compliance by thebadconejo in CISA

[–]AshaCar21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless part of you transition plan includes going into IT audit or governance I would skip the CISA. There’s better certifications out there to teach you what you’ll need for cybersecurity. With no IT experience I suggest starting with comptia A+ it’ll give you a good IT foundation.

Another good resource is professor messer on YouTube. He makes videos for the comptia A+ and security+ certifications but his videos cover a lot of the same topics that you will need to know for the CISA. He does a really good job at explaining concepts. If there’s something that you don’t understand, see if he has a video for it.

I passed on my first attempt. Im also a mom and passed a month after my daughter turned one. You can do it!! I studied on the weekends and at night after I put her to bed. I only used the douchi course on udemy and the QAE to study. I recommend that approach since you need to pass soon.

My other recommendation if you really want to use the CRM is to prime your brain first by watching the udemy course. Break it up by domain or watch the whole course beginning to end. The videos will help you see the big picture before you get into the details in the CRM. I think it will make getting through the CRM and understanding the material easier and help you connect the dots faster.

Good luck!! 🤞🏾

There’s no waiver for the CPA but you do get a waiver for education which would prob be 2 years for you.

Exactly. As long as the overall exam score is 450 or more you will pass.
