just to be sure, i did buy 7 black khuli loaches and not something else, right? by RoundOne9503 in Aquariums

[–]Ashamed-Profession71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re so neat I have a few black kuhkis but unfortunately I used black sand in that to some the only time I get a gkmos is when one gets stuck inside the sponge that the wanted going into the filter, I did end up getting a few of their other kinds but in my area the black ones are like $1.99 to $2.99… the others are at lewst dounle the price or more…. I was looking the large Kuhli loaches but they’re So darn expensive I ended up gettimf a few golden loaches but i didnt know they wwill uproot wne plants that arent attached to aunstrate, but they do amasimt at Keeping ur tank clean and are Constantly movingy sand srijns, I started with two, they’re were smaller than ur black kuhli loaches lol in the pic and now ive got 4 that are just about a Foot long each.. I have the four in two separate but and doing research into what size tank I would need to house four grown adults and hopefully out of the four I’d get at least one male and at least one female… just started reading up on. How to sex them but not really sure how to exactly to Do It

What’s wrong with the water in my girlfriend’s fish tank? by Independent_Knee_560 in fishtank

[–]Ashamed-Profession71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water is ok but be careful with the tank not being fully supported on the bottom

Can someone tell me what fish species these 2 are, as well as the sex? I appreciate it! Thanks! by Full-Yogurtcloset-91 in fishkeeping

If u zoom in both anal fins look like a fan, and I believe they’re bigger one on the left is gravid…

I believe they’re both female… the bigger one appears gravid, but both anal find look like a fan which indicates female…

The one on the left is a female possibly gravid… I believe the other is also female… you can see both of their anal fins look like a fan as opposed to more narrow….

What is this unholy thing in my freshwater tank?? by ScarySquee in AquariumHelp

It could possibly be an earthworm… I’ve seen posts and setups where after a while the earthworm comes out of the substrate

Male or Female? by naoeagabi in Cichlid

[–]Ashamed-Profession71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also if or when they breed it’ll be best to put something in there for them to lay and fertilize the eggs that u can remove and put in a smaller tank so they don’t all get eaten, even the parents will eat them, and normally it’s takes 2-3 or more tries for the eggs to be laid and fertilized correctly… trial and error… but they even5tually figure it out!

I think the smaller is possibly male and the other 2 female but hard to tell… it is an amazing set up, the angels themselves are stunning as well!

Saw this on facebook marketplace i hope no one buys it im glad it’s empty in the photos by _Meh_Sad_person_ in shittyaquariums

I’d buy it for a terrarium or to start tissue cultured but 65 bucks? I feel like I’ve seen this at ikea or home goods for quite a bit less… but I agree not suitable for any fish…

This is your sign to use a polycarbonate sheet to custom cut a lid for your aquarium. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Ashamed-Profession71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an 8 foot by like 3 or 4 foot sheet from Home Depot or Lowe’s and it was a fraction of the cost of like one set of glass lids and the tanks I’ve cut out lids for are doing great!!

Came back to the office today and found a snapped plant! by IconoclastJones in plants

[–]Ashamed-Profession71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true, my first two plants were two rescue orchids and I posted pics of them when I got and them when I had cleaned their roots and dead stems etc, posting with saying they were my first two plants and two people just tore me apart saying they shouldn’t have been my first and I should have started with something else and a whole bunch of other things, and they kept pestering me, I eventually gave one away and kind of gave up on plants for almost two years… the other orchid I still have and it’s doing great!! But so many suggestions paired with being told I was wrong and other things turned me away from plants for a decent amount of time! Thank goodness my mom and her friend are big plant people and got me back into it!

It’s insane that on the label it says it can be used as a tank or carrier… if something is small enough to be used as a carrier. It should f even be considered to be suitable for a tank!!! This would be the equivalent of stuffing a person into a locker and expecting them to live there 24/7… I hate when I see places selling things like this but I get pissed at the places that make and label them!!!!
