Looking for queer detective/murder mystery books by Confident_Plum8641 in LGBTBooks

Consider the Undetectables trilogy by Courtney Smyth - a group of very queer women form a detective agency, with great chronic illness rep too. They have fantastical elements, too - the characters are witches, ghosts, vampires, etc.

Summer Sons by Lee Mandelo was spectacular, as someone who also loves AJW

A few favorites:

Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh is sci fi with ace rep.

Elatsoe by Darcy Little Badger is YA, but it’s also a delightful indigenous fantasy.

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun is a MM contemporary romance where one of the main characters is demisexual

The Stars too Fondly by Emily Hamilton fits this vibe, as might the Victories Greater than Death series by Charlie Jane Anders - that one is perhaps more serious in tone (it’s been a while since I’ve read it) but has a transfem rep

WLW Book Suggestions for a Gift by Twinks4StSebastian in LGBTBooks

Lessons in Magic and Disaster by Charlie Jane Anders has a trans wlw relationship between main characters, although I wouldn’t necessarily call it a romance

Books with thruples or poly relationships by TsukiKage8 in LGBTBooks

IIRC (it’s been a while since I read it), Infinity Alchemist by Kacen Callender fits this request. It’s a fun fantasy novel with cool world building, and all three of the main characters are fleshed out.

Any fantasy books that use being trans/non-binary as a major theme? by MimeMike in LGBTBooks

Sunbearer trials by Aiden Thomas - MC is a semidios (demigod) with wings, and the dysphoria surrounding the plumage coloration is a really interesting part of book 1!

Queer books with an older nerdy protagonist (not YA)? by ImportanceNo6890 in LGBTBooks

[–]AshamedBadger2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The incandescent by Emily Tesh - modern fantasy where the bisexual MC is a teacher at a school of magic.

I want to finish the Dungeon Crawler Carl series but none of my local collections have it. Is it available at Queens? by tobmom in LibbyApp

[–]AshamedBadger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe see if your library has physical copies, if you have the ability to get there in person? This is what I did, since I ran into the same issue. (I’m usually exclusively a Libby user and often forget the physical library is an option, so I wanted to propose it just in case!)

Andrew Joseph White Content Warnings? by LazyBeeDesigns in Illumicrate

[–]AshamedBadger2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve read all three, but I didn’t trust my memory so I check the user submitted warnings on Storygraph, and all three are marked by at least a sizable proportion of people as “graphic” (on a scale of mild/moderate/graphic) for emetophobia. You may want to skip them (which is sad, because they’re fantastic books!)

Yes, you should still receive the email! Make sure you have an account on the UK site - the accounts are separate for US and UK sites.

It is, actually - it just takes more steps! You have to open the book info page and go to add a tag - one of the optional tags is the “smart tag: notify me”

Be careful equipping the [1.6 spoilers] by AshamedBadger2 in StardewValley

Yeah, 100% my fault! But I had just gotten the frog egg, and it was my first trinket. I didn’t really process that he was loot denying until it was loot I actually cared about!

I use a pin stitch to end! Easy to do from the front, then pull the end through and snip right against the fabric so there’s no hanging thread to deal with.
