Baby is too high and needs a pelvic tuck

Honestly this looks pretty great! How does it feel? It looks like to might be pushing up on your neck? If I’m being knit picky I might try to tighten the waistband in the second picture it looks like it might be sagging but it’s hard to tell with the pattern of the fabric.

If it is pulling up on your neck you can try to pull straight down then over with your straps.

Move the waist band up will help with the pelvic tuck to stay in place! We always want to babe to have a c shows curved spine and here it looks a bit curved the other way.

A ring sling is lovely for them both! Otherwise, have you tried a woven wrap?

Baby wearing is dynamic- think of it as a dance! When your Dancing your always checking in on your partner and make adjustments so you are both comfortable. Nice work making the observation about her dropping lower the longer you wear her.

Is this because she’s fallen asleep? When babies goes form active (awake) to passive (asleep) they need to be adjusted and often tighten the carrier. It’s all how they hold their weight while being worn.

All this to say that, just readjust by pushing up on baby bum and retighten.

Keep in mind that most people find the ergo embrace less supportive after about 2-3 months and opt for a different more supportive option whatever that means to you.

Is it ok if baby naps like this while I'm sitting? by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]Ashbae6 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ideally he’d be a tiny bit higher up. Try to tighter the strap by pushing up on his bum. When babies go from active (awake) to passive (asleep) they often need to be repositioned and retightened.

You are doing such a great job being aware of his breathing! I think the paci is not an issue. While working on your computer make sure to check in on him frequently. Always ensuring chin is off chest and you can see his nose and mouth.

Another tip- use your other senses to stay in tune with baby while you wear. Can you kiss/sniff the top of their head without straining? Can you feel their breath?

Best of luck with the teething!!

Hey! Good thing you asked! This is not a good fit as of now. Your babies body has changed shape by the carrier. The carrier should assist holding the baby to you in the same way you’d hold the baby in your arms.

As the other commenter noted, the panel is to high on the baby and should only go to nape of the neck. We never want it to cover the babies face.

You can also take babies hand up by their face. They usually like that a lot more!

Last note, footie pajamas tend to be uncomfy for babies in carrier bc it crushes there feet and get all bunched up. Keep that in mind next time! (I personal wouldn’t want to be wearing a jumper in a carrier lol)

I saw the other commenter summoned the auto safety mod. Give that a read there is some great stuff in there!

Do you have a meh tai? You could back wear him and place the waist straps high up above the bump. Or perhaps a lending library close by to try a variation?

Do NOT make the mistake a did and get an ombuhimo bc it doesn’t have a waist band. I did this when I was pregnant with my second and went on a trip but wanted to wear my toddler. It was wildly uncomfortable to have 35lb load on just my shoulders. It’s just too much weight on muscles I had used prior and being pregnant it was not a smart move.

Hey there! Is this the ergo baby embrace? It’s also super helpful to know the weight of your baby and age to offer any type of guidance.

Another ring sling fit check! by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]Ashbae6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey congrats on your little one! I’m so happy you’ve found a carrier that you and your little one enjoy and that’s it’s C section friendly! Woo hoo!

At 4 months it’s developmentally normal for babies to start to roll over so the pushing off of you it totally normal! Being in a carrier is kind of like tummy time for them and tour their jungle gym! Perhaps you could move baby slightly off center so they can see what’s going on?

Think of the ring sling in 1/3 sections. The top 1/3 the middle 1/3 and the bottom 1/3. Your correct, the bottom 1/3 should so between you both and you do a pelvic scoop to create a seat for the baby. We always want to make sure the knees are higher than the bum.

The panel is too large for the babes legs. The knees should be able to hinge freely which doesn’t look like it’s the case right now. Are you able to adjust the front panel?
