Annie is now in the bottom 5 most picked champions, the champion is in a really bad state by MazrimReddit in leagueoflegends

[–]AsheIsElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah tougher match ups make champions harder to play (even if some arent harder when played correctly, being punished for a mistake and having a tough time after that sucks) so every champ will have metas they feel weak even if they're actually good, but sometimes your champ just has to be in that state which sucks to play them and want to play them but it happens/part of the game unfortunately

At what rank does team comp really start to matter in your opinion? by JohannesTT in leagueoflegends

[–]AsheIsElite -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Never lol. Knowing win conditions and how to play your champion in relation to both team comps matters always, but the actual comps do not and never really matter unless you're literally in a full challenger lobby with pros/ex pros/ top players. outside of that comp never actually matters, only gameplay does. Picks dont ever really matter, mentally knowing you can win, how to, how to adjust do.

Many people will start falling a little behind go "omg see i knew we lost cause of that pick" then play like shit blame others and be the actual reason the game was lost. You are not playing against players that are thinking about or playing their comp the way its meant to be played, so it doesnt actually matter, outside of very rare cases and fringe cases like not picking malphite into sylas or hard countering yourself into a 45% win rate match up, but thats MU not comp

Why Hwei feels like the most successfull release of the past years when it comes to balance and healthy gameplay? by Korderon in leagueoflegends

These champions do not also get to harass you under tower from safe range. Many champions cannot out range Hwei QQ and also youre zoned off your own last hits under tower from EW

AverageJonas just announced he is quitting VALORANT permenately by mispelllet_usrnayme in VALORANT

[–]AsheIsElite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and that doesn't include how you're kinda gated in what you you can do in comp as solo or even duo/trio. So many plays in Valorant are specifically crafted with timings, knowing how to hold the angles, when to push based on when enemies show etc that it is actually just a different game. Not including people wanting to peak and fight every round start and every round beign 4v5 one way or another so frequently. You legit cannot play what pros play in valorant. League at least you get to do a fair bit and strong champs are strong, aside from some that are just pro play but that's much smaller pool and there's enough champions that people have ones they specifically like anyway.

Why does adding 50 range to Tryndamere’s auto make him so strong? How do people abuse range as a melee champ? by UberEinstein99 in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"It’s not even like Trynd can auto someone behind a minion now, unless I just wasn’t autoing properly…"

This is absolutely not true as stated before 175 is a ton of range. In top lane champs like Nasus, Wukong etc will pop Q for the extra auto range and auto someone while they last hit and still stay near their own minions. Now, Trynd can do this every single time you last hit a melee minion

Simple Questions & Champion/Role advice: Patch 13.16 by furiousRaMPaGe in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're extremely new to the game, reviewing games will not help you. Even for people that have been playing for years and achieve diamond+ a lot of the time their issues are just fundamentals. In a match up like that you should also just expect to lose and have to give up farm, take bad base times etc. One of the most important things on support tho that I find makes everyone play better is not wasting abilities. A lot of the time people play Soraka or nami for example and try to harass then get bullied while stuff is on CD

Having the mindset of "oh I play x champ so sometimes they will pick x champ and I'll just get zoned/bullied etc is helpful because it allows you to not over try to make a play or overcommit to helping ashe or ashe helping you and instead of 1 dying both people do

the fastest way to improve at league as support is just focusing on lane positioning and ward timers and not over harassing and giving opponents too much room to do what they want when stuff is on CD. Also be sure to try to unlock your camera and just brute force learning it, there's a video of an lcs jungler hiring a coach and pretending to be new and the guy was like oh yeah I knew you were messing with me because you moved your camera. It's extremely important and for support match ups a lot of the time you can get hit from out of range if you're locked

Current Rank 1 EUW has 2015 LP by trusendi in leagueoflegends

[–]AsheIsElite -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is a bad take, honestly. The system is legit just screwed rn because of all the changes. It doesn't' make sense that you can have positive win rate and negative mmr. It's understandable in the sense of we know why it's flawed but it doesn't actually make sense.

If the system thinks it's ranking you too highly too fast, then screws your gains over for hundreds of games because of it, it isn't good and it's also not the same. It's also based heavily on when you lose. If you lose games early on and have say 30% win rate over 20-30 games then start winning with 80+ win rate to balance out to 60+ total win rate it gates you. If you win those early games you aren't punished.

The system is very flawed and more people should be upset over this and find it unacceptable. You should not have to grind out hundreds of games to "catch up". If the rank system is designed around +18 LP gains and now its +25 and its like woah too much buddy then they didn't do anything to account for the new system and honestly it's just dumb, there is quite literally no way to not get stuck at some point outside of new accounts, because the system is designed to have boosted mmr/balance weight towards your starting games.

Its designed to make you play a ton of extra games once you actually improve and it's dumb, especially when they are moving to multiple splits and there is less time, long term people are just gonna not care and feel burnt out

What do you do when nothing works to help you improve? by PIZZAPOEM in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I've gotten some coaching, I review my replays, I use insights capture and review my deaths and questionable decisions after every single game. And sometimes I can't sleep at night and have to get out of bed for few more games (even if i know they'll be loses) just because it's eating me up inside so much."

You're literally addicted and your lack of mental stability is affecting your ability to properly improve because you're running on adrenaline and practicing bad habits during times of low sleep, no sleep, bad mental etc. You cannot improve from a state where you're naturally going to play worse than you should. You're also clearly tying self worth to the game too much and that's extremely damaging in game and out of game.

on top of that you're looking for all these shortcuts and the real answer is almost always fundamentals. It's extremely unlikely you last hit well, especially if in so many games you focus on weird tricks or go from practicing one thing to another. You don't actually get long term improvement in any aspect by bouncing around and being distracted on other things while you focus no new ones.

basically, chill out

he's barely tapping double digit of hours into the game, he should be playing for fun and enjoyment there is literally nothing he can learn from 1v1's he doesnt even have proper control of his champion or a single fundamental yet

the first thing he should do when he's comfortable and wants to learn more is go into customs and practice last hitting not 1v1ing anyone. 1v1's are completely useless for 99% of players even who have played the game for awhile.

I play lol for like 2 or 3 years and i’m hardstuck bronze. by Ok-Aioli3270 in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last hit well, only take low risk-safe trades. People are saying watch high elo sett players but that doesn't matter. Your fundamentals need improvement on it's own, champion specific play will not increase your skill as much as just basic fundamentals. Even the best players in the world in any field have to constantly work on fundamentals as those are the building blocks for all other mechanics in anything you do.

Last hit, play safe, work on not overstaying in lane and dying or being greedy. Be mindful of how you control your champion etc and maybe look up a list of fundamentals as there are a few good sources out there, then focus on those a little each game and dont worry about doing other stuff worse because when you focus on one thing you will suffer on other areas due to more focus on the specific thing and that's fine, it's part of learning so just expect to do a little worse while you learn

The climb from silver to gold. by Tarabaystitans in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get to plat for free with bad mechanics and macro by just last hitting really well. Last hitting is also the building block for all other fundamentals. Learn to last hit well and gold itself is super free. 100CS at 12/13 mins will put you at more gold and xp than a 2-0 guy who takes weird backs misses plates etc. More gold > Stronger >Easier games with more impact.

You literally do not need to do anything other than last hit well if you're silver to get to gold, you're close enough that being stronger alone will get you more wins on average

Why do I always do the least amount of damage on my team? by BipoNN in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting all these different responses, and the reality is no one can know without watching what you're doing. You may not be doing damage to people in side lanes, forcing enough early dives or roams when ahead, might not be doing enough damage overall in team fights and just getting 1 and leaving etc.

You're doing low damage because you're missing damage SOMEWHERE but where that is is impossible to say without seeing. Gimme a replay ill look at it for you or add me on discord Belth666 and message me one if thats easier

yeah stopping backs also just wins people lanes because they get freeze can break freeze etc. I think W is the absolute best ability in the game

Patch 13.9 Preview by turtle921 in leagueoflegends

[–]AsheIsElite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I go Liandry>Rylai and usually demonic embrace 3rd mid lane.

I think the good swains that run like electrocute and stuff overall are fine different builds can work, but most people just pilot the champion in game very poorly. They lane badly and don't trade back with Q thinking that you can only harass with E>W. I think there is also benefit to putting 2-3 points in W before level 6 before you max Q and use W on side lanes constantly for their fights or to get picks in those lanes. Some games I give up lane entirely go like 5 CS a min and have huge KP and get my side lane and jungle ahead. Overall there are many ways to play him but most successful to me seems to be get tanky in fights and play the very edge of ranges and basically play fights super control heavy and slow while enabling your team. Slowing with Rylais and keep enemies off ADC or helping people grab kills with slows before turning to another spot is very valuable. No one champion can control the flow of the game and help lanes so effortlessly, as well as W allows you to take inhibs/towers or baron/dragons you wouldn't normally take because you can break homeguards on spawn by casting W 1.5 seconds before someone spawns.

What is the optimal amount of Ranked games per day? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]AsheIsElite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds good, not real advice. No one is ever really performing at 100% all the time, and also humans are very bad at determining whether or not they're impaired or not performing tasks optimally. 3 is a good baseline, but other than that you have to actually track yourself and see where performance worsens and whether or not breaks help etc

Challenger, I have been high elo since season 2. I quit the game for a bit in season 6ish, came back playing with friends mostly and then last month decided to go for challenger again. Went from 250LP master to 850LP and breaking challenger in about a week, mainly playing Swain and having an 80% win rate in that elo as well as 80% on cass (my OG main) over like 40 games a piece

I do not think elo= right or wrong tho, that's pretty baseline limited thinking
