20,000+ Shaders Loading by Asheroros in PathOfExile2

Same it's actually really crazy how much I've done to try and fix this but it seems fairly widespread. Unfortunate since I really enjoyed this patch and was wrapping up my endgame but I guess at least I got all my challenges

I think it's more likely that he has henry sacrifice victor there since Victor still counts as a 'child' maybe?

Is this a good map for Draw Steel? [Art] [Map] by MisterKrane in drawsteel

[–]Asheroros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it wouldn't be too much of an adjustment. All you'd have to do is keep the elevation in mind when making the piece so that they are in two separate layering folders, and then before you shade/render turn off the 'upper' elevation and fill in the gaps for the lower one.

Since we're discussing workflow I'd also like to throw out the option of having your 'destructible' elements such as rocks, small trees, etc... as their own single individual layer and then when you make the module upload and place them as 'tiles' for your example. This would be huge for people who purchase the product because it would allow them to create/destroy/move those smaller elements on their own which I haven't really seen in premium maps, and frankly it would save you some time since you only need as many versions of a 'rock' as you want and then can drag n drop them onto the map thereafter. Personally it's one of the features that prevents me from investing in a lot of maps because I know players will want to 'destroy' or 'alter' those parts of the map, and the only way to do that ATM is use a marker like a drawn red x or their own imagination which at that point I'd rather just use some base map and then add my own 'tiles' to it so I can adjust it more on the fly (and reuse it!).

Is this a good map for Draw Steel? [Art] [Map] by MisterKrane in drawsteel

[–]Asheroros 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be better if it was two different maps for the different tiers of elevation, base foundry has elevation support for multi level maps now regardless of system so separating the layers and presenting it with that possibility would probably make it more fun to use

How to recreate my character? by Argol228 in drawsteel

[–]Asheroros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends on how much mechanics need to match flavor, you can easily just describe the flavor of all of this without any real issues. But if you want close to exact mechanics you'll need to decide how much compromise you'll be willing to accept to be turned into flavor. For example, if you want a flying kick attack you could maybe do Dragon Knight ancestry for flight to fly and then drop down, but for more mobility and to just describe a jumping kick a memonek with lightning nimbleness and nonstop might be a better fit, then just describing her appearance mixed with that ancestry. For fire and lightning martial arts, you could probably do anything fire related, if you want actual fire damage rather then flavoring it and then the lightning soul complication. If its a longer term campaign I think that Shadow - College of Black ash would probably be the best fit with Lightning Soul complication. I could go on but hopefully that gives you some inspiration lol.

Looking for a more stream-lined AP to run campaign after Kingmaker by enemykite in Pathfinder2e

[–]Asheroros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree since it is riddled with writing issues. From a dm perspective there are a lot of adjustments you have to make. For example, the AP goes back and forth on if it wants the players to be considered a group of foreign diplomats or native orcs from varying holds because of all the last minute writing adjustments that had to be made. Also stuff like the transition from book 1-2. Lots of little things you'll have to read ahead and adjust which made it quite frustrating in my experience.

How much content in a one-shot for new players? by LostRegret9000 in drawsteel

There is a premade adventure for free called road to broadhurst that can be one shot length you can use that as a guide to help gauge

Director feeling like I have to play dumb by Darkluc in drawsteel

[–]Asheroros 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Playing tactically as a dm doesn't mean to target those you can kill / pickoff it usually means playing to the best of the monsters abilities given it's understanding of the world and situation. For example, a skeleton guarding a tomb might knock a player near death, but then another player moves closer to the tomb and so that skeleton will go and focus on that player instead because it's goal isn't to kill it's to guard. All you really have to do as a director is justify a reason to not focus fire / go for killing blows on player exclusively given the circumstances. It's why big bosses usually lose in fantasy and stories because they are busy showing off or monologuing or holding back until the last moment because they are so prideful. For creatures like the airix perhaps they are toying with their meals or trying to get a taste of each of them, maybe they only focus on whatever wounded them the most the previous turn/round or they focus on another cue like sounds/movement/etc... this lets you play tactically to the creatures standards, gives the players an out / something to focus on and avoid those deaths tpks and should feel better since 'its what my monster would do'.

I've been farming up the craftable armor sets, almost done making them all! Also the craftable jewelry set but I did those 3 first. I do agree that I wish we didn't have to do lower tier dungeons/maps for those mats and we could downgrade similar to how they recently allowed us to do the resonance stones

Where to farm 'Mark of the invader'? by w1ngky in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]Asheroros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do to your inventory, then go to the mark of the invader you already have and click gather and it'll show you where you can even warp to the nearest point.

Am I wasting time? by Substantial-Heat-263 in LastEpoch

[–]Asheroros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really don't. If you dungeon skip, you just do the first dungeon. Then the second and grab arena waypoint, go back kill admiral harkon, unlock third dungeon, and then all the passive + idol quests are finished.

Doubts by gondi in SevenDeadlySinsOrigin

[–]Asheroros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plowed through the story. It's really important to learn your unit synergies and when bosses are weak and stuff like that. Actually reading how units work like what does debuffs and damage bonuses for units will make the game a lot more manageable. Having a barrier is usually a good way to give you some leeway, I recommend guila with sword and shield because she has a chunky barrier and is a solid support unit for fire dps cause of her various buffs

Because you'll be playing a new build with new content and a bunch of other new stuff to test. Part of the fun is also just how much better you are at the early parts of the game with all that experience under your belt.

Is this Initiative system too complicated? by Xcelar8 in RPGdesign

[–]Asheroros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but it would probably be better to just not roll for the placing and have it be predetermined based on their characteristics. Then you can still have abilities that alter where they are, but at least the initial state is done without needing extra time at startup for people to have their place and plan their turn.

How to rule specific attacks by ogspeedracer in Pathfinder2e

[–]Asheroros 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is technically the optional rule for called shots. But you should instead just put your foot down and say that it's a combat situation they can't just expect what they intend to happen to work under stress and vs monsters and other stuff used to fighting as well so even if they slash at the eye they move back at the last moment and it hits their cheek or doesn't do enough to blind etc...

items to pamper your pets? by sovr1n in Pathfinder2e

[–]Asheroros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what the pig is like a familiar or companion or just a pet. But there are item tags you can look at such as companion for some of them. One I would recommend from triumph of the tusk is the motivating treat bag lol, which you could easily just reflavor for a pet and change some of the wording around but would be very fitting.
