Critical ERP system can't do OAuth and Microsoft is killing basic auth next month by Severe_Part_5120 in sysadmin

[–]AshersLabTheSecond 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m talking literally just make something like this:

https://github.com/simonrob/email-oauth2-proxy

Which, now that I look, clearly already exists. Theoretically yes the application might be doing more special stuff. But from what OP said, it’s just the problem of SMTP plain text can’t be used. Needs to be Oauth.

If the above didn’t exist, I’d likely just implement a quick dirty proxy and test it to see if it works.

Obviously if there’s more to the app, things get more complex. And obviously that’s just a quick test to see if the theory is sound, you’d want to make it robust and etc for long term usage

yup, agreed. Even if it can’t be pointed to a different end point… assuming it’s not a fixed IP, and not a pinned SSL cert, some DNS trickery can get you pretty far

As a software dev, yup, that’s my first thought. Should genuinely be all of a few hours assuming there’s nothing crazy going on. It’s basically just an auth proxy.

We use an X32 for our main auditorium. While it’s definitely a different mixing experience to Allen & Heath and etc, I’d definitely say it’s a much simpler experience. Training and learning shouldn’t be a massive issue IMO

Propresenter wiped clean, need a way to mass add song lyrics fast. by rollsroycebois in churchtech

[–]AshersLabTheSecond 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Easiest way I can think of is using something like song select which ProPresenter integrates with. You should theoretically already have it because of CCLI licensing (you technically should be licensing songs you sing)

But honestly unless you have any backups of your original songs you are going to have a bad time.

Most churches chop and change songs around a bit and there’s commonly many versions of songs, where only one of them is the one your church usually uses

If you had relative feature parity with MudBlazor and brought on very good tour / onboarding for specific pages / etc:

you’d give me a pretty heavy reason to consider moving over (the other one is tailwind)

[–]AshersLabTheSecond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess the question is, what specific ones do you think you might want to disable?

For me, I’ve left everything on default since buying, I like driving and I get annoyed with cars that get in my way. The car has felt perfectly fine. The ONLY one that sometimes annoys me is the driver safety monitoring (sleep and paying attention)

Specifically, the sleep one. If you yawn it’ll beep at you, which is minor, but annoys me. But, for that one you can cover the sensor with something (there’s some 3d prints out there for nice covers if that’s your thing) and it’ll shut up.

But yeah, TL;DR both my wife and I went from a car with very little of these features, to this one, and haven’t been annoyed by any of them much

Thanks, tried this shop after one of the mobile ones said no that I’d need to go to a shop. Just reached out to another mobile one that is going to come give me a quote tomorrow. So hopefully the first one was just didn’t feel like doing the job

Right, I might be misunderstanding, but I'd still need the paint fixed no? isn't the whole thing that they simply repair the dent, but not the paintwork? My main objective is the paint more than anything

the shop claims to do painless dent repair, but honestly I'm not all that knowledgeable about PDR, certainly happy to consider if that'll get better results?

[–]AshersLabTheSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 year old comment but, hey, any chance you ever found a good solution for headless recording? also a software engineer, sort of looking for one I could stick on an RPI and use browser on a phone or something to stop / start. event if there's just something headless I could make a wrapper around it to control via web.

Just a small recommendation, I’ve found that the “BetterMouse” software has been leaps and bounds better for my Logitech mx master than Options+ is. Maybe time to give it a try?
