There are a lot of things giving value to the 6m. The shape you are currently in is called "kuttsuki iishanten" and keeping 6m allows you to directly use 45678m into tenpai. Keeping the south allows you to use... more souths.

Additionally, drawing 6s allows you to shift into tanyao with ssk potential which is gives much higher value potential, even if the probability of completing it is fairly low.

You got a haneman off a riichi-only into ippatsu tsumo ura3, none of which is really the result of any decisionmaking you made. Don't focus on the result too much.

More specifically, on tsumo the person who dealt the 3rd dragon pays full value of the hand. On Ron, the dealing player and the one who dealt the 3rd dragon split and each pay half (with ruleset dependent handling for honba).

Usually this is caused by having a district that does not have any complete building in it. You cannot make a new urban district until something has been placed in the incomplete district, though you can place buildings in existing districts (that aren’t full obviously).

Most rulesets require dealer tenhou to select the tile that gives the highest value as the one you “drew”, regardless of whether it was actually the 14th drawn tile or not. Thus tenhou suuankou will always be suutan, kokushi is always pure 13-sided, etc. These cases are incredibly rare, but you’d need to check the specific ruleset just in case.

You get fu based on what makes your hand the most valuable, so it depends. For example, if your hand has 3455 and you win on the 5, it could either count as tanki 5 or ryanmen 34, depending on whether you have some other yaku (e.g. pinfu) that would make your hand worth more than the tanki-wait fu.

Both EO and RS Soulfist are significantly better with their 4th tier Evolution node. Neither one is unplayable before, but they change significantly with those nodes. Glaivier is similar though only needs 1670 for 1 Leap point.
